cc: Dusty

Kyle Baker said...

Sweet! Glad to hear it, Josh. Would you believe that though we don't live but a few miles apart, u-Verse is not available in Pasadena? I want to get of Charter cable as soon as I can.

Josh S. said...

That 0.1 IP is real deceiving, since he had nothing to do with the out that was recorded.

Josh S. said...

@Dusty: My co-worker lives in South Pas and she has U-Verse. What a bummer.

MR.F said...

How was the out recorded?

Josh S. said...

@Mr. F:

"With Rob Johnson batting, Anthony Rizzo steals (2) 3rd base. Anthony Rizzo out at home, third baseman Jamey Carroll to catcher Hector Gimenez."

There was an overthrow to 3rd in there somewhere, I think by Gimenez.

Oh, and...

Gwynn RF
Gibbons LF
Ethier DH
Kemp CF
Gimenez 1B
Miles 2B
DeJesus 3B
Ellis C
Sellers SS

1-0 Fonzie Exclamations

Bills got himself in trouble but got Matsui to hit into a DP, but didn't take advantage and gave up a 2-out rbi single

Dodger bats have been very Potsie Weber so far

Fred's Brim said...

Bills is a little wild today

Fred's Brim said...

4 walks for Bills in less than 3 innings. He only has 1 in his previous 6+ innings

Fred's Brim said...

bases-loaded single from Carter brings in 2.
3-0 bad guys

Fred's Brim said...

ugh bloopers dropping everywhere, 4-0

Fred's Brim said...

How is Jay Gibbons more highly-regarded than Xavier Paul? What has he done to earn that? 2 good weeks last year when the season was over? I know nothing is set in stone but the impression I get is that Gibbons is a lock and XP is a lock to get dumped. Is it really that clear?

Fred's Brim said...

christ Sellers dropped an easy popup

Fred's Brim said...

oh crap - Aaron Miles home run.

MR.F said...

Oy.

I recently read Rick Monday's Tales from the Dodger Dugout about the '81 season and he told a story about the Dodgers facing Charlie Leibrant in spring training. They were swinging and missing at everything and looked terrible. Tommy was furious and yelled at everyone to take better at-bats. Reggie Smith yelled back saying something like "we want this bum to make the team so we can pound him during the regular season."

I wonder if teams serve up meatballs to scrubs like Miles so that we will keep him on the roster

Fred's Brim said...

Hi Mr F, thanks for coming to my party! The other will show up soon, and then it'll be so much fun, I swear!

Josh S. said...

I'm not really into the game. I'll just be over here napping.

Fred's Brim said...

@Josh - you may have to push some of the Dodger bats to the side. Don't worry, you won't wake them. They are pretty sound sleepers

Fred's Brim said...

The As announcers just mentioned the trade that sent Ryan Theriot to St Louis and that brought a big smile to my face

Fred's Brim said...

They are advertising $5 tickets for Oakland games. You might have to sit under that stupid tarp, but you'll be in the stadium

Fred's Brim said...

Matty with a homer!
4-2

Josh S. said...

I guess Matt is a light sleeper after all.

MR.F said...

The A's have had a $5 Tuesday (or was it Wednesday?) promo going for awhile. They also sell hot dogs for a $1. It's pretty awesome actually.

Fred's Brim said...

Sounds good to me! KC had something similar. I remember being shocked when they charged me $6 for parking and only $5 to get into the stadium

Fred's Brim said...

It's the weeeekennnnnd, baby!
I am outta here!

Josh S. said...

Nice work, KJ.

MR.F said...

Damn. Good work FB!

Josh S. said...

Hey, they fixed EY-YOO-HEN-EE-OH's hat in his Gameday pic!

Too bad he's still Eugenio Velez.

Josh S. said...

Allowing Andy Freakin' LaRoche to reach (and two runs to score) on a fielding error? What a revoltin' development!

Josh S. said...

I'm finding it hard to believe we've won 5 games.

Kyle Baker said...

Getting hammered in my local cantina on my day off. They have Cubs at WSox on. Joyce DeWitt just made a really shitty error, the kind we used to see and say oh, wow, he's not quite ready yet.

Kyle Baker said...

I thought u were napping Josh. Or dis u type that n ur sleep?

Lashings Milledge w a 2-run HR in ninth. 4-3 Cubs.

Josh S. said...

Drunk, autocorrected posts are awesome.

Josh S. said...

Poor Christian Lara doesn't even have a Gameday photo.

Josh S. said...

And he strikes out swinging on three pitches.

SCREW YOU, YOU DON'T DESERVE A GAMEDAY PHOTO!

Kyle Baker said...

I'm in an autocorrect correction-free day, to be sure.

Kyle Baker said...

9-2?
Fuck that
I'm now watching Nats

spank said...

Pull my finger

Fred's Brim said...

I really hope the innings scrubs like Guerra and Velez are getting aren't taking opportunities away from our real relievers

Fred's Brim said...

THAT'S NOT HIS FINGER!

Fred's Brim said...

MLB Network will show an abridged version of Game 1, '88 on Monday night as the 10th greatest game of all time. If you hadn't seen it elsewhere, here's a funny story from that.

Kyle Baker said...

Final verdict on Opening Day tickets: PURCHASED.

I'd worry about getting time off if I hadn't also bought some tix for my boss. Dusty and [redacted] up in dis bish! Also, Mrs Dusty-in-law.
