Kenley Jansen As Closer-In-The-Wings

Almost missed this USA Today article that mentioned Kenley Jansen, described as one of the hot young potential closers of 2011:

The Los Angeles Dodgers also have a big arm in 6-6 Kenley Jansen, a converted catcher with slightly more than a year of pitching experience. He is an intriguing option if Jonathan Broxton, who converted 22 of 29 save chances last season, continues to regress.

Jansen, a native of Curacao, concedes his learning curve has been swift.

"I thought I'd play in the big leagues as a catcher," he says. "Boom, they switch you, and in nine months you're up in the big leagues pitching.

"The game is more on the line in the ninth, but I'm just treating it the same."
