STGT: March 27 vs. Indians, 1p

This marks the last exhibition game before the team returns to real MLB stadia (the Dodgers play the Angels at Dodger Stadium Monday, then the Angels down at the Big A on Tuesday, then have to travel all the way back to Dodger Stadium to host the Mariners Wednesday, before Thursday's Opening Day against the Giants). And, as per the Baby vs. Scary Spice Girl Showdown results, we're going with a picture of a pissed off Baby Spice to see if we can stretch the Spice Girl-themed streak to 4-0.

You wouldn't want to piss off Emma B. any more, would you, Dodgers? So close Camelback 2010 with a win, will you?

Mike Hampton was still pitching in the majors? I had no idea.

We just optioned Ramon Troncoso to minor league camp. #TronLegacy

Beard Mode definitely starting season on the DL, per D. Hernandez. Weird to see him reporting news and not making fun of other stringers' weight.

Baby Spice was my favorite back in the day. I'm not a fan of that picture, though.

I think we lost, right? Just got back from the local Dos XX point of distribution.

Down 2-1 in the 8th. Baby still has a chance to save the day. Maybe we need to be buntin' more.

Hmmm, now we're down 5-1 in the 8th.

Nice catch by Sands in right to end the inning!

Josh S. said...

Aw shit. 5-1 now.

Oh wow, that "It's time for what's next" commercial is great. I wonder if it's online.

So the Opening Day roster looks to be:

Kershaw
Bills
Kuroda
Lilly
Broxton
Kuo
Guerrier
Hawksworth
MacDougal
Jansen
Elbert or Cormier
(Cormier has refused a minor league assignment.)
Barajas
Gimenez
Loney
DeJesus
Furcal
Uribe
Miles
Carroll
Ethier
Kemp
Thames
Gibbons
Gwynn
Paul

Thoughts? I'm happy Paul gets another shot, even though he's usually terrible when he gets called up. Miles has the potential to be GAARP 2.0.

Kyle Baker said...

Of the above list, who is the biggest positive surprise? (This may be an easy question bc there isn't a lot to choose from, alas.) Gimenez?

I'm happy to see De Jesus make the squad.

Bigger question, who is the one to lose his roster spot when the 5th starter's spot comes up? I'm hoping it's Miles but I'm expecting it to be DeJesus or Paul.

Is it too late to trade Ned for Kim Ng?

Shawn Green said...

It'll probably be Paul, seeing as how he's already the sixth outfielder, and most teams don't even carry five.

Shawn Green said...

Gimenez will go down once Wioner, Wioner, Chicken Dioner comes back. After that, it's likely Paul, De Jesus, and Elbert/Cormier for Garland, Padilla, and Blake.

Josh S. said...

What the? Did they just re-do the layout of Dodgers.com in the last 5 minutes or so?

Josh S. said...

The interesting thing about Gimenez is he's out of options. Since he can play first and left, I see someone else going down when (if?) Dioner comes back.

A new layout to get used to, that sucks I feel lost.

I had some time to watch Hector in BP last week. Guy has some pop.

I don't know how this is roster is gonna work.....

Really excited to see more of Jansen and De Jesus.

Don't fuck with De Jesus.

WWdJD?

I bet Paul outperforms Gibbons over the next few weeks, possibly by a lot, yet still has to be moved when Vicente Garland comes back

@Paul after years of watching him play, Gimenez does have more than a little pop

Paul said...

I only saw him in batting practice. He looked good but I wouldnt say it was Piazza session.
