We'd really have to cheer for K-Rod?
I honestly have no idea. Probably somewhere between the two. I want to root for something other than money. On the other hand, I really enjoy winning.
But if the Dodgers spent that much on players, who would pay for the playing fields for area children? Damn you revenue and budget constraints!
Zack Greinke has a tiny head.
Where's the button for "Fuck Chase Utley!"?
After all the bitching I've done about the Yankees (and now Heat), I'd feel hypocritical saying "Awesome!!" However, I would still root for the Dodgers and enjoy those championships.
But the portable concession stands!
I'm in favor of jacking up payroll to get talent. I don't think some of the names you mentioned would be worth the money.
There's what, three titles amongst those guys?
To be fair, Greinke, Utley and Santana are having down years.
Though, the question did state that those guys would bring five titles, so yeah, go for it.
In a perfect world, I'd rather win with players I like and respect (Loney, Beard, Wide Eyes, etc.) and not just rent guys to bring a title (the Jeff Kents of the world).
But the world isn't perfect. Bring on the damned championships! We haven't won since I was a teenager, fercryinoutloud.
How did I miss this?
Ultimate Rivalry - Dodgers vs. Yankees
Also, no inner-city playgrounds. If we made a play for K-Rod, I might just quit watching games. Greinke seems like damaged goods, so I can't even fantasize about this.
I think I mentioned it in a previous poll (I think it was along the lines of "would you give up a year of your life for a guaranteed championship), but I wouldn't find the game quite so interesting if I knew what the final result was going to be. There's no fun in predestination.
(John Calvin, you're on notice!)
I ALREADY give up years of my life rooting for this club. What more do the baseball gods want??!?
@RB
I'm glad you do not fantasize about Zack Greinke.
@ Mr C: true that - it's no fun at all.
Nosty! How ya been?
Any prognostications on what inning KFP will crush the Giants' hopes on the basepaths tonight, as he would a folding chair?
It had been way too long since Nostradamus weighed in! Welcome back, old friend.
I love all this Prince Fielder to Jints talk. Fattest infield ever? Groundskeepers would have to reconfigure the bases to more effectively balance weight distribution.
Too bad they traded away Bengie already.
