COMMENTS: Two 2-0 wins does not a six-game losing slump erase, but it's a start. The Dodgers face a far greater test tonight in Santana, who lifetime against them is 3-0 with a 0.44 ERA. That's right, 0.44. However, Padilla has a 0.87 ERA in his last three starts, so it's like going to junior prom — don't expect a lot of scoring.

Igneous or metamorphic?
I'm probably under a sedimentary rock. Since I'm oblivious to much mainstream knowledge, I'm probably under a rarer kind of rock than my cousins. Sedimentary rocks only form 5% of the total volume of the earth's crust.
Perhaps my cousins live under metamorphic rocks. Like the way metamorphic rocks change based on external influences, so too are my cousins' interest in various pop culture (ie, it is shaped by what is popular).
Now that's the kind of in-depth analysis I'm looking for!

It's still early but re Padilla I would say: it seems like if he gets knocked off his stride early, he just falls apart. If he has early success, he cruises. Not all that different from a number of pitchers, perhaps, but as a veteran he should be able to right his ship if he's in early trouble.

I really am not normally a "Blame Torre" kinda guy, but he put this one out of reach. Everyone and their mom knows the bench can barely hit better than the pitchers, so bringing in Belliard with two out and one on was a huge blunder.
