I remember last year when Josh Beckett threw at Bobby Abreu, nearly hitting his head when Abreu called for time. Beckett didn't even apologize, and he was suspended six games. The Red Sox appealed, and it was shortened to five games, which worked out perfectly since the Red Sox had an off-day coming up and could just push the rotation back a day. And then everybody got pissed off because there was no point to the suspension if it wouldn't do anything.

@Nic - from what I've heard, the league nixed the deal, believing it was purposely loaded so that the majority of the money would be paid early, with very small amounts paid towards the end. Which goes to why it was killed, as the league does not think Ilya or the Devils intend on following through on the last few years of the deal.
