The Dodgers took a 4-0 lead into the eighth inning and didn't really know what to do from there. Maybe it was the sheer lunacy of a Garret Anderson pinch-hit double that scored two runs which left the Dodgers feeling like they were in a fantasy world. In any event, the Cardinals took advantage of their opponent's confused state, scoring three in the eighth inning but letting Jonathan Broxton retire pinch-hitter Albert Pujols to end the threat...for an inning. Matt Kemp wastes Rafael Furcal's one-out double and the chance to add a run, and Broxton implodes in the ninth inning, letting Matt Nutsack Holliday single in the game-winner. The Dodgers get swept out of St. Louis and still haven't won a game since the All-Star Game.

Hmmm, well, these awful losses will make us to appreciate the big winning streak coming up.
(just daydreaming in here)
K-rod blows another save. Giants tie it up.
I think I'm in a nightmare within a nightmare within a nightmare.
I thought we had this.
Wow.
Just, wow.
Don't make me get the baboon.
Don't think I won't.
I was lurking from about the fifth inning hoping not to jinx it. Guess it didn't work.

I'm just so damn relieved we're playing a division opponent tomorrow, so we might actually see a win.
I am terrified that this NL West advantage of ours will vanish and then the season will be gone before we hit September
We haven't played well since May.
This team has underachieved all year.
We rarely get hitting and pitching in sync. And Yeah I said In-Sync.
We definitely need some Synchronicity.
Or some Scrantonicity.
Man we suck right now.
We are spirits in the material world.
Now go out and win.
Don't stand so close to Brox.
The Dodgers' play of late has driven me to tears.
Giant steps are what they need.
Speaking of Giant Steps...Coltrane and gin eases the pain.
nutun but a chicken wing!
Karina, it's not wholly his fault, but we need to have Martin start hitting again.
There has to be (less of) an invisible Son.
I have found some temporary solace in some old school Digital Underground tunes. Underwater Rimes, take me away!
At least the dodgers are finally out of St. Louis. Maybe now i can stop feeling Missouri-able.
I Love It When You Call Me Big Papi
#baseball/rapmashups
Fred's Brim very, very SAD
Thank god we don't play another team with red uniforms until August.
Collins Curse update:
Dodgers' game record in games called by Collins in 2010: 7-17
Dodgers' series record when called by Collins: 1-7*
*One game of the Cardinals series was not called by Collins, but he still gets credit (blame?) for the series loss.
Y'know, posting that made me realize something.
I can make jokes about Collins being a curse and whatnot, but the fact of the matter is this: the Dodgers have won only one road series outside of the Western Division.
That is...not good.
I hate being in the middle of the pack in the division around trade time. It doesn't seem like the team is good enough often enough to get to the post-season with the current roster. We are also not bad enough to be offload dead weight.
@Josh
I'd rather be irrational and just blame Collins instead of trying to explain something I don't comprehend. It keeps me both happy and blissfully ignorant.
Just like how religion works.
Actually, that's kind of how beer works, too.
I also think it's funny that we keep getting the Giants after hitting a massive low point. It's cathartic!
What do you mean "getting the Giants"?
Uh, facing them? They appear on our schedule? Playing them in a game of baseball?
Oh. That almost makes too much sense.
I like that avatar.
@Mr C
Therefore beer = religion ?
@DB - For you guys, anyway.
I'm going to be at the Stadium tonight (very inebriated) to witness James McDonald's 2010 debut.
Ummmm.... at least my ticket was free.
