SoSG Google Ad Review: Newgy Robo-Pong

I couldn't help myself from clicking a banner ad I recently saw on SoSG plugging Newgy Robo-Pong. What is Robo-Pong, you might ask?

Well, according to the top of its website, Robo-Pong allows you to Have fun while getting into shape! (I love the liberal and arbritrary usage of font sizes and bold emphases here.) And if you're wondering if table tennis can indeed provide an effective workout, just watch the video and consider the man with the boobs in the orange shirt:

It's only $895 for the top-of-the-line robots (other droid models are available at prices as low as $229, but you may have to buy them from a little man in a hooded robe standing by a sandcrawler).

I don't know, I think the other "robo-pong" would be a fine workout, too. (Especially depending on how you apply it.)

Say it with me. Newgy. Newgy newgy newgy. Newgy.

And yes, I'm regretting that I did not start this SoSG Google Ad Review feature while cougartown.com and Mrs.Robinson.com were advertising.

Finally some competition for Forrest Gump!

I love the round-robin game they show in the video. That has drinking-game written all over it

@FB: Agreed. A subset of the Sons used to play a similar game running around a pool table rolling pool balls from the long ends of the table before other balls stopped their motion. Too difficult to explain the rules in a comment thread, but the games usually ended with a glass window being impacted by an errant ball, or someone taking a cue ball in the nuts.

Good times.

@sax - sounds like fun, but tiring! Will this be a post-game activity at SoSG Fest?

Hmm. We were actually planning on boob-guy coming to demo the Robo-Pong, but maybe I'll scratch that idea and see what we can do.

Speaking of which, I haven't seen your application email yet FB...slots are filling up!

Oh man I would have sent in my letter immediately if I could actually make it. I am mad that I can't go
