Nosebleed All-Star Game Tickets Still Available

Bill Plaschke may think it's the best stadium in town, but even with that ringing endorsement, Anaheim Angel Stadium still can't sell out MLB's premier exhibition* event.

I just checked on the Angels' site, and top-deck "View MVP" seats are still available through Ticketmaster at $200 a pop (plus $12 service charge). Specifically, my search brought up seats in section 529, but don't worry, I've released them back into the pool (too rich for my blood).

I had received an email from mlb.com informing me that Home Run Derby tickets are available, but there's a link on this page for ASG tickets as well.

Here's your chance to go see Andre Ethier, Jonathan Broxton, Rafael Furcal, and Hong-Chih Kuo play with what seems like the best 274 players in the game!

(*) Oh, right, "this time it counts." Uh huh. Sure.

My search gave me nothing when I searched for 2 tickets, but it gave me section 418 when I searched for a single ticket.

$225 (plus charges) ALMOST seems worth it to not have to listen to Buck and McCarver.

Per Dylan Hernandez, Ethier is batting 7th and playing center tomorrow night. Ubaldo is starting.

Innnnteresting.

Yeah I just read that re: E starting at CF. Um, ok.

@Josh - that mute button on your remote is FREE.

I wonder if any of those Hannah Montana tickets are still available.

Nice.

I heard that because of California budget cuts, instead of going to Yosemite or Grand Canyon to study rock formations, high school geology students take field trips to that pile of rubble behind centerfield

Steve Sax said...

@FB 12:14p: The kids probably don't even know the difference.

Igneous is bliss.

Granite, a rock is a rock to me, but that shist won't fly when they have to take the state test

Steve Sax said...

I forgot about the state test. Shale we intervene?

These puns are too tuff to follow.

Democrats like the All-Star Game and Republicans like the Home Run Derby?

Steve Sax said...

You remember those great commercials, "Republicans Love The Long Ball"

Steve Sax said...

Meanwhile, back to our puns.

Look, FB, I'm not trying to quarry with you here.

Steve Sax said...

@LLCoolL 12:49: I also love how Washington, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Maryland don't give a shit about either.

Mariners and Orioles fans don't care about All-Star Weekend? What a shocker!

Josh S. said...

Mr. LASF: Thanks for picking up my fight slack with MoKM. I grew bored quickly.

Looking at the photos from the All-Star media day. Jeter and A-Rod are the only ones in suits. What douchenozzles.

It appears the puns have gone coal.

We've hit rock bottom?

Kyle Baker said...

@Josh, MLASF

Hope your fight doesn't end up in the quartz.

Fred's Brim said...

Anyone else sedimental for the days when we could string puns together for hours?

Kyle Baker said...

@FB

A little, maybe. But not enough to magma start cryin'.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Jon Miller accuses the Rockies of cheating.

There's no rock pun (ironically), so you'll just have to wait a minette for more.

Kyle Baker said...

@MLASF

I chalk it up to Miller's jealousy.

Kyle Baker said...

D Fish up in dis bish! New 3-year contract. *wipes tear*

Thanks for the heads up, MLASF.

Josh S. said...

What, no HR Derby GT? You've made boulder choices when it comes to what deserves a game thread.

Kyle Baker said...

I marble at our ability to draw out this pun any longer.

Fred's Brim said...

cmon Josh, be gneiss. I am sure Sax is busy coming up with way to incorporate Robo-Pong into the SoSG Festivities

Kyle Baker said...

Slate, and Sax is tired. Give him a break.

Josh S. said...

Clearly, I have been felled sparring with you gentlemen.

Kyle Baker said...

Damn, I've been thinking about "feldspar" all afternoon. Nicely played.

Steve Sax said...

@DB 3:34p: What, you think I'm tired today? On the contrary, I wasn't aplite last night, I pumice you that.

Kyle Baker said...

I knew you weren't a skinflint, Sax.

Steve Sax said...

I wonder if Psammite Sosa will make an appearance at the ASG festivities.

Kyle Baker said...

He'll be there with adoring fans graveling for his autograph.
