Good Night, Sweet Prince

As major Major League enthusiasts, we're sorry to report that character actor / Indians manager James Gammon has passed on. Though we won't sacrifice a chicken in his memory, we will miss his gruff charm and mustache.

Somewhat-related note: When I went to see that Inception dreck on Sunday, not one but TWO trailers featured a plotline that involved heavy product placement from the Boston Red Sox. One was "Charlie St. Cloud" and the other was Ben Affleck's "The Town." Sox PR folks must be in overdrive seeking new revenue streams, combined with writers from Boston who are part of the vaunted "Red Sox Nation" and who like to weave their team into story lines. Cheap cheap cheap.

The charlie st cloud trailer got humongous laughs at my inception screening. I'm just convinced its the first movie written entirely by a computer.

It certainly seemed that way, DD. I could literally predict the outcome and plot based on seeing the first 3 seconds of the trailer. I was trying to figure out how I could choke and kill myself with the straw before the end of that trailer.

DB You would have gone nuts at our screening. People applauded at the end like they just saw the trailer for the next Dark Knight film.
