Clayton Kershaw (9-5, 3.16) vs. Tim Lincecum (10-4, 2.94).

COMMENTS: As the Dodgers continue their free fall through the NL West — only 14 more games until we catch the Diamondbacks! — we can at least pause to enjoy this matchup of two of the finest young pitchers in the game. True, Kershaw is two Cy Youngs behind Lincecum, but Kershaw (only 22 years old!) is still enjoying what could be his breakout season.
Tonight is also James Loney Bobblehead Night at Dodger Stadium, so let's take a moment to recognize Loney's consistency. He leads the Dodgers in doubles, total hits and RBIs, and somehow seems to avoid the injuries and big slumps that have affected some of his teammates. Sure, he could hit for more power — he's on pace for another 13 HRs this year (see what I mean about consistency?). But overall, he's our King James.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 302 of 302There's a ton of shit on this in the Official Rules, and I think this could not have happened. I hope they're playing under protest.
Gents, fasten your seat belts, this is going to be a bumpy ride.
wtf you guys are not kidding, sherrill is there
Saxy - they're saying Mattingly took two trips when he stepped off the mound for a sec and stepped back on.
No fail allowed here, George.
Well we saw that coming...
And...that's your season.
Didn't Lynyrd Skynyrd make the rule three steps?
One in a row!
WHY IS HE NOT GONE YET?
Oye vey
I feel like throwing up.
I hate Bruce Bocky...pajuo! (pardon my french)
Rule 8.06(c) The manager or coach is prohibited from making a second visit to the mound while the same batter is at bat
MY two year old saw that coming
suckx
There's no place like home
With your family around you you're never alone
When ya know that your loved
You don't need to roam
Cause there's no place like home
Time's are changing everyday
We won't get by with the same old ways
No-oooo pulling together will make it right
With help from are friends I know we can right
Cause there's no place like home
With your family around you you're never alone
When you know that your loved
You don't need to roam
Cause there ain't no place like
Better believe it
I said their no place like home
"I mean no place child" .
....
Now we have to hope we can get 2 outs without more damage and get a run with Help!, Despair and Anger :(
Screw you too Fat Panda
@karina
Nope. Smooth as can be, right into the side of the mountain.
I can read Martin's lips: " You blow and suck so hard, f-er."
@Sax @Josh season is not over.
On TV "credit to Bochy", it's a shame you can't bean a manager.Idiot.
And I am am very close to throwing something.
Stick a fork. We are done.
I sincerely hope the Dodgers are playing under protest.
MAttingly's going to step on and off the mound a dozen times until Sherrill leaves
Oh, we are so, so screwed.
I can't take this
Also, what does "I'd love to see Joba getting pulled over on the 110 and 5 " mean?
Can't lose any ground to the Padres, I guess.
I think a tee could have done just as well in that situation
Aw crap. I'm not even really pissed anymore.
That's not a good sign.
Karina - he's gotten a couple DUIs. IF he was a Dodger, he could do that on our more spacious freeways.
Now will this loss be Broxton's fault, or Sherrill's?
lol. Same here Mr. C.
Break his leg JMart
Our bullpen is a fucking travesty.
We really are inventing new ways to lose.
On top of all this, another wasted effort by Kershaw- he'd have a better record than the Freak if he had decent relief.
@MLASF
the rule says "visit" how is that a second visit????
Giants announcers are saying "mound"
"A manager or coach is considered to have concluded his visit to the mound when he leaves the 18-foot circle surrounding the pitcher’s rubber."
I have the sound on mute and I can still here the gnats announcers gloating
@DD I know he's had DUIs but I didn't know what meant 105 and 5. Thanks!
Rancho Ardiendo, am I in a nightmare?
I NEED A MASSIVE FUCK YOU WALKOFF RIGHT NOW.
Mr LASF - heh heh, you said rubber
would have been nice to give Lincecum the loss
This is enough to make a girl look for something else to do at 10:15 on a Tuesday night
Coaching overhaul is much needed.
I want blood and revenge. Something Tarantino and Rodriguez would think it's too outrageous.
I hate the Giants. Giants suck.
This is just so damn ridiculous that I'm not even pissed, just disappointed.
@karina
Those are the freeways that meet right by The Ravine.
I know we won't. But I really really really want us to.
Usually Sherrill does well in these situations, until he has to pitch.
Not enough blame has been aimed at XPaul for letting the Giants back in.
@Mr C thank you very much again!
It was a good joke, DD
Nice recovery, alas.
Raffy double!
Very niiiiiiiiice, Raffy!
let's have faith!
bring it baby!
Josh S - I missed most of the game. What did Paul do wrong?
The Ghost of Sherrill is worse than the live pre waiver one.
Not dead yet
I believe in the Dodgers.
DD: He dropped a fly ball hit by Burrell that allowed a run to score and extended the inning.
Look at our home page to see my tribute to Sherrill
I know Josh suggested that Sherrill was purposely imploding this year due to frustration over not being a closer.
I wouldn't put it past him to be purposely imploding now that he knows the team does not want him.
Back to Back
Belly to Belly
Belly2, you are useless.
Ugh. I hate Belliard now. He took away the Ethier walkoff opportunity.
Fuck you Belli with your weak ass shit
Can't we pull out some weird rule now please?
I've avoided the fray largely because I'm speechless.
My protest includes no blogging.
@Neeebs - At least the Devils' deal with Kovy was shot down by the league.
Hmm Ethier...I don't want to say what he does well to not jinx him.
oooo
Christ, just throw a pitch.
FUCK THIS FUCKING SHIT
So it is written.
So the Dodgers are done.
"That's the ball game and I can't believe this win"
Neither do I. We finally agree on something.
What a train wreck.
I love the Dodgers, but holy crap do I despise this team right now.
We're Doomed
At least we got the weather girl
I will still be around. I will still cheer.
But I am not the man I use to be.
All I have is over dramatic non sequitors.
My brain is spinning.
I hate the fucking Giants.
Any way we can get Schaefer to manage this team? His fire is what this team needs. Joe looked like he was napping when Bob stood up to the ump.
Oh shit, Paul turned into Plaschke.
http://bit.ly/b3ETqW
SoSG Fest is going to be depressing if this doesn't change.
Fuck Torre. He ran into the dugout when Schaefer sprinted out.
@MLASF
Didn't see that. Wow.
@Josh S.
Nah. This level of melodrama can't be maintained. Either their fortunes will turn around or it will be such a bloodbath that it will be impossible to look away.
I need some comfort food. Everything is going to be fine, RIGHT?
This is just a phase. Tomorrow's game will be intense, after all that happened on the field today.
Yep. Saw that the deal was arranged so that the amount paid towards the end of the contract would veer towards league minimum, and believed neither the Devils or Kovalchuk intended to play out the last few years.
@Mr LASF I bookmarked your link. It's liberating.
Hell Yeah MLASF
a Pirates fan started following me on Twitter tonight,how come? I haven't never mentioned the Pirates.
I love his bio: Information on the Pirates, updated daily, Beat 'Em Bucs! @beatembucs1
If he's an optimistic, everyone should be one too.
@Josh
I should have saw it all along.
It was clear as the sky on a spring day at the Ravine.
I have been left to my words to cope with my team's flaws.
Oh wait I am not that big of an idiot. Win tomrrow take 3 of 4 from the Mets and it sets up the Pads series.
If not well then trade Kemp ala Plaschke's idea a few years back.
@Karina:
Pirates are my second favorite team. Went to their stadium last year and fell in love with the scene.
Pinot Noir still taste good.
Gonna pour some out for my man Dusty.
If I was at that game I would be exhausted.
Open Plea To The Suits Of SOSG:
In lieu of our current losing streak and lousy play, May I borrow Smonk for the night? I...I...don't want to be alone.
Oh yeah. There's the lingering pang of disgust. How familiar you have become...
I need a win streak. Like an addicted gambler I think our luck is gonna change. In too deep now anyways.
Oh, and le sigh.
This game was so painful to watch, I drank a Coors Light. . .willingly.
Then I woke up, and it was 2005, but no LimaTime!
