Post-Game 79 Thread: Eke

DODGERS 1, ROCKIES 0

Feels pretty good to win a series, doesn't it? Frankly, I had forgotten. But the Dodgers eked one out against the Rockies today, taking the rubber match and giving us a breakeven record on this Mini Sirloin Homestand. Rafael Furcal was the hero, pinch-hitting in the eighth to drive pinch-runner Russell Martin in from second. Hopefully this shakes both out of their respective slumps.

Tomorrow is an off-day. Get ready to puzzle!

And then on Friday...what's the name of that guy who is coming back to the lineup? I forget.

(pinch-hit PGT from Sax; send complaints my way rather than Orel's)

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm at work! I don't have time to read such a long post!

Juan Pierre gets the last putout in his last game as a regular starter.

Blue Jays all wear shirt that says "Canada" in honor of Canada Day.

It says "Canada" where the players' names would be.

This one came very close to the wire. Who would you rather have Broxton or Gagne when he was with the Dodgers?

TheGSF said...

Dodgers baby! They cut it really close in this game, but came out with the win. Friday Manny comes back!

Gagne was a Cy Young winner. During that season, he could do no wrong. Broxton is still learning the trade, but he is an "A" student.

Broxton as Gagne used the juice to his advantage (hoping that Brox hasn't).

Thanks, Sax!

Hopefully I will be able to find time to do the puzzle... I won't be in the office.

Pretty good for not having watched the game at all (let alone from the Vin Scully Press Box), huh?

This season the Dodgers have been:

-first to 20 wins
-first to 30 wins
-first to 40 wins
-first to 50 wins.

Staggering.
