Clayton Kershaw (6-5, 3.27) vs. Yovani Gallardo (8-6, 2.95).
COMMENTS: The Sausage Race? Cool. Playing "Roll out the Barrel" after "Take Me Out the Ballgame"? I could take it or leave it. But Bernie Brewer? The mascot who makes Mr. Met seem warm and cuddly by comparison? Just creepy. Those glassy eyes, that oversized, banana-colored (and -shaped) moustache — and are those teeth? A mouthguard? Bernie Brewer approaches D. Baxter-level creepiness.
Oh yeah, the Dodgers have been assured of the best record in the majors before the All-Star break. Next time you see a regular-season Game Thread here, we'll know who will have home-field advantage in the World Series, and we'll be anticipating the return of Manny Ramirez to Dodger Stadium.

Counting on Kershaw to keep up the progress he's clearly made over the last few outings.
Let's knock this one out so we can get back to the business of bitching about Dodger All Star Game non-inclusion full time.
I will not be on this thread because...wait for it...I will be at Hollywood Park betting on the ponies.
From ESPN.com:
R Furcal SS
A Ethier RF
M Ramirez LF
C Blake 3B
J Loney 1B
M Kemp CF
O Hudson 2B
B Ausmus C
C Kershaw P
Kemp batting sixth? What kind of topsy-turvy world is this?
Ausmus catching Kershaw again. Joe has figured it out.
Furcal starts the game with a lead-off walk.
Making Yovani work already. If he's tired, he won't hit home runs.
Come on Orel. The Brews have the best mascot in baseball. Who can match that machisimo?
It's the home run that wasn't!
Would someone explain to me why Furcal didn't score with Manny's double?
Because the right fielder misplayed the ball, loosing it in the sun. Should have been caught
Karina, it was a ball lost in the sun. Everyone thought it was hit out, so Raffy must have taken his time rounding the bases. As soon as it landed, he hit the gas, but there wasn't enough time at that point for him to score.
This outfield seems easy to fool. Way to go James!
Thank you very much, Neeebs and Josh.
King James, in play (runs)!
I'll take the two.
Runs scored in the first inning is very nice and numbers on that situation favor the Dodgers.
Sure looks like Loney got Hart at second there.
Kcal 9 just showed that Kershaw and Bills lead the NL with the most walks. Guillaro is also up there in walks.
Damn another walk!!!
Rancho Ardiendo for the Brewers, at least there are two outs.
Phew, that looked like a ball cameron struck out on.
Definitely a ball, AC. Good thing he chased it. Kershaw once again threw too many pitches in the inning. I'm hoping for an eight-pitch second inning.
For all of you out of towners, the game is on TBS today.
At this rate, Joe Torre's gonna be dipping into that bullpen early.
Blake so close the the fly ball. damn.
Why do you think Kersh has so many walks? Do you think he doesn't trust the defense or that he is just too young and doesn't trust his stuff?
Alex, i think it's a problem of self confidence and/or anxiety.
Ausmus, in play (runs), with no runners, it only can mean...
Wow Ausmus bringing out the whooping stick!!
A Home Run!
Dodgers 3, Brewers 0
Atlanta 3, Colorado 0
Pads and Giants 0
Ausmash!!
This is a game where we need to keep pounding out runs. TNP
Hey SoSG number crunchers, what's the HR/game average up to since Manny came back?
Thank god for O-Dog's glove. Here's hoping he finds his bat in St. Louie.
Dodgers 5, Brewers 0
Casey Blake grounds out, Ethier scores, Manny was on third and King James singled.
Kemp is 0-3 in the six hole. Maybe Torre is right putting him eighth
Public enemy #1. Hart strikes out on a wicked curve!
Kershaw is settling down. Can he give us two more strong innings?
rbnlaw: looks like O dogg heard you, but didn't want to wait for St louis!!! HR!
Alright, let's take care of business, Kershaw.
Kemp is a stud.
matt kemp is awesome!!! Doubles up the man on first with a strong throw from center field. Amazing!!!
And now that's a great outing by the kid.
Anyone catch how many pitches Kershaw has thrown?
3-0 Padres Top 1
He is at 102. Hiro is warming up.
Kemp bats lower than 7th and he is 0-4. Maybe it's a mental thing.
Epale, everybody. Nice to see Kershaw spinning another gem.
Kuroda's coming in!
It's a little worrying to see that aside from bills in San Diego, kershaw has been our most solid pitcher the last few times through the rotation.
Good for the kid, bad for the rotation.
What just happened?
O-Dog! Again!
I fell asleep and just woke up in time to see Kuroda finish off the seventh and Hudson knock another one out. Damn my hot apartment for making me sleepy!
It's nice to see odog perk up a little going into the ASG
Orlando circles the bases like a man on fire.
Ausmus with a HR and Hudson with two. Unexpected.
It's not a dream, Erin!
Raffy gives it a charge. Could all the bats be heating up at once?
It'd be nice if the Padres could hold on so that we could go into the break back up seven games.
Remember last year when andre used to battle through every at bat, fouling off pitch after pitch. I miss that.
The pads and the braves both have pretty healthy leads at the moment. Looking like it gonna be an very nice Sunday.
"Raffy gives it a charge. Could all the bats be heating up at once?"
I hope God and every angel had just listened to you.
2nd & 3rd, one out for the Brewers. Kuroda might get in a full game's worth of pitches here.
Gotta run guys - hope we pull this through!
Have a nice ASG hiro. Please come back pitching better.
SD 6, SF 0, bot 3
ATL 7, COL 3, bot 5
I wonder which GM Ned Colletti is talking to right now.
Oh man. That was close.
Wonderful.
Well. This isn't good.
7-4 Dodgers. O Broxton, Where Art Thou?
The Eternal At Bat.
J-Mac!
Finally.
And McDonald wins it! Nice.
Still a three run lead, but no longer comfortable.
"Hey SoSG number crunchers, what's the HR/game average up to since Manny came back?"
Even without crunching the numbers, I'd say Miller Park has been a bigger factor than Manny.
I have an interesting HR stat coming up in the Post-Game Thread.
Let's hope they hold them.
The Beard is run down
The Dodgers are eleventh in the National League with 73 homers, according to the ESPN stats. I do not know if that includes today's three or not.
Eric Collins = not so good at the math.
55-32 is not 33 games above .500, Collins.
Wow, some bad moments for Collins. The ball couldn't have been further off the plate, and he called it strike one.
Angels beating the Yankees again. What is it about that match-up?
I was a little surprised Collins made that numbers mistake.
I don't know what it is Orel, but I do like it. I hate the Angels until they play the Yankees.
Yeah, Collins seems like the type to be on top of that sort of thing, but not there.
This ump is squeezing Troncoso a bit, if you ask me.
Why can't it just be an easy 1-2-3 inning?
Come on Troncoso!
Nothing's easy today.
Keep the ball down, Tron.
Throw your sinker.
Beast Mode!
Good job, Pierre.
Weebles wobble but...?
End this now.
Please make Braun look bad here.
0-2 count...
Everywhere there's signs.

The All-Star break. Best record in baseball. The rest is well deserved for the boys in blue.
