COMMENTS: Here it is, Dodger fans: Your one and only chance to cheer guilt-free for the amazing Tim Lincecum. The NL West-leading Dodgers and NL wild card-leading Giants both have a vested interest in tonight's All-Star Game. Can you believe that, according to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times, "Never have both teams qualified for the playoffs in the same season." This could truly be a season of firsts!
If you're into omens, or just vegetarians who hit for power, Prince Fielder won last night's Home Run Derby. Which either gives the NL a psychological edge (in addition to home-field advantage) or means that Fielder will be too bus(c)hed to produce tonight.
And don't overlook the Joe Torre connection. The LA Times reports the Dodger manager has a record of 13-1-1 in All-Star games. Need more convincing? Look no further: An MLB 09: The Show simulation has the NL winning, 5-2. So it's all but decided. They might as well send everybody home right now.
*Some sources have Braun in left and Ibanez in right. Both players usually play left.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 257 of 257Why can't we do that to Heath Bell?
I got 200 and didn't even know it.
Damn.
How can you not like a guy with the name "Zobrist", though?
I like him better, now.
Hi, we're the pitchers of the NL West. Please score all of your runs against us so the announcers can feel justified in downgrading our division while acting surprised that the best record in baseball and the current wild card leader are from the NL West.
Yikes.
Anyone caught downloading that free ringtone will have their phone confiscated and will be given a severe slap to the back of the head.
It's on the O-Dog now.
Here we go, O-Dog!
Compliment for Ned!
ODOGG!!!!
Everyone's safe!
NL West bats represent!
YAY O-DOG!
Do your thang, Dog! Nice to hear the Cards fans cheer for the NL!
Tonight was made for this moment.
O-Dog!
Geez. I go to put my son's bike in the garage and the NL puts men on.
Oh Dog!
Everybody's first-pitch swingin'.
Quick, go put your son in the garage!
Howard going for the fence when they need a hit.
There's an ostrich in the NL dugout.
Bravo, O-Dog!
ODOGG!!!! MVP!!!
SB for O-Dog!
O-Dog takes second!
"Quick, go put your son in the garage!"
Shit. Knew I forgot something.
Oh wait, I can hear him shooting hoops.
O-Dog with the SB.
Nathan looks like John C. McGinley.
Lots of tense faces.
BOO howard!
Dammit.
That was a severe letdown.
Nice AB, Howard.
Damnation.
Sorry to arrive to the party late, but did someone already list the former Dodgers that are in this All Star game? Jason Werth, Edwin Jackson...
The nl west set him up and the nl east let us down.
With two outs and desperately needing a run, why would you bring in a no-contact hitter? He's not going to get up there and look to hit a single and tie/take the lead.
Oh yeah. It's Charlie Manuel, and his players take precedence over winning. Matt Kemp would have hit a tying home run, not struck out like Jason Werthless.
K-Rod plays no defense with that delivery. If he did, he might be even more effective.
Oh please, Kemp would have made that look routine. Give me a break.
Matt Kemp just kicked his TV.
Did Buck just say the NL will send up a 1-2-3 inning to face Fuentes?
HAHAHA! McGarver just called the Angels the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I've never heard that on the air before.
Last licks for the NL
I hope yjis is not a jinx, but Kemp will win his spot on the All Star Game on this season's play-offs.
Who's going to be the NL walk-off hero?
Do you know how the ESPN deportes announcers call Rivera? Apaga y vamonos which means turn it off and let's go.
This is not looking good for the Dodgers.
Should've told Hawpe Rivera pitches for the Dodgers.
Damn
I blame "Taco" Bell.
At least we witnessed history, Rivera sets a record for most saves at ASG.
Fucking AL.
Well, the first ASG I've watched from start to finish in about 5 years.
On to The Deadliest Catch.
Doesn't matter we are gonna sweep the world series anyways.
...and we're done. Another year of hearing about the superiority of AL baseball.
"On to The Deadliest Catch."
You mean watching Carl Crawford?
The worst part is that papeldouche got the W.
Post-Game Thread is up. Yes, there's a Post-Game Thread.
