Very nice.
After making it to the World Series two seasons ago, the Colorado Rockies are back where they belong, in the NL West's basement.
I love looking at a completed month on my calendar and seeing alot more days with a W rather than an L.
And yes the rest of the division losing ground makes one giddy.
I see something in my rear-view mirror.
I think it's the division.
Have any of the players in the Holliday deal made any impact beyond Houston Street? I'm glad he's out of the NL West, but I always thought that was a dumb move on Colorado's part. If they kept him, he'd be producing and helping his team win, as his numbers at home were God-like. Plus he'd sign with another team next year and the Rox would get a 1st round pick for him.
rbnlaw - objects in mirror may be closer than they appear.
Radical thought:
Sign Tom Glavine, maybe release Weaver, and watch the rest of the division shrink further in the mirror.
MAYBE release Mota! Weaver has been a nice surprise and is a acpable pitcher and can get it over the plate. Guillermo Mota is ridiculously horrible!
just dont sign Glavine. He's worse than Maddux.
OK, release Mota. I know Glavine is another lefty, but if he got his control back after surgery he could be a spot 5th starter in case Uncle Miltie goes on a gopherball binge. Glavine could also fill the role the Dodgers blew by letting Maddux sign on with the Pods as a consultant.
300+ wins says he knows a thing or two.
I think the Dodgers could pick him up on the cheap and use him to get Kershaw, Bills, Stults, and even J-Mac on an even keel.
But then, I could be wrong.
