Dow, Jones, or Papi?

Below you will see three eerily similar trendlines, A, B, and C. You'll notice all three gradually increase until reaching their respective all-time highs, at which point each drops prodigiously and in step over the next 2-3 time periods, bottoming out at levels just below half their all-time high.

It's your job to guess which trendline represents Andruw Jones' slugging pct (through last year), which is David Ortiz' (through June 2), and which is the Dow Jones Industrial Average through its post-1997 low of March 2009.

So, which is the Dow, which is Jones, and which is Papi?

Is A Papi? I think he had consistently good seasons before he faded last year

C is Jones - he had that booty year in Atlanta before he even came to LA

That would leave B for the Dow

A, B, or C. Papi, Jones, or Dow. None of that matters. It's another awesome graph from EK!

I'd say they're interchangable, but if I had to choose, I'd go with:

Brandon is correct!

FB - does 'booty' year mean a good or a bad year? In all three cases, the year previous to the all-time low year was already trending downward. FYI the Dow time periods are approximately 1 quarter, while for the players it's a season.

booty means bad, and not bad meaning good. I was just remembering that Jones had that terrible season before he had that terrible season for us. hit hit some homers people were already wondering what was going on. It seemed worse and earlier than Papi's fade, but maybe i missed it because he was on a good red sox team

I'll go with:
A - Papi
B - Jones
C - Dow

I only hope the Dow recovers as well as Jones' slugging (grumble grumble).
