Ben Maller over at foxsports.com posted today that Dodger starter Jason Schmidt may indeed be gone for the year:
The Dodgers are worried that Jason Schmidt might not pitch again this season, according to a major league source. Schmidt, who signed a three-year contract for $47 million, has a bad shoulder and could be shut down for surgery soon. Schmidt is 1-2 with a 7.36 ERA this season in three starts.
I'm curious who this "major league source" is. I mean, if it's Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn or Pedro Cerrano, I might believe the rumor. If it's Willie Mays Hayes spouting off, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
