Post-Game 34 Thread: One Mother of a Sweep

DODGERS 11, ROCKIES 5

If I told you Ted Lilly gave up 3 runs in the first, Matt Kemp came out of the game with an injury, and Andre Ethier and Don Mattingly were ejected for arguing balls and strikes, your natural response would be, "How badly did the Rockies end up crushing the Dodgers?"

Oh but see, that's where you'd be wrong. The Dodgers suddenly had other guys that could hit.

  • Bobby Abreu: Bases-clearing double.
  • A.J. Ellis: 3-run home run (above), cementing his folk hero status.
  • Scott Van Slyke: 2-run double and a stolen base. (Van Slyke's batting average, fielding percentage, and stolen base percentage are all 1.000. Small sample sizes rule!)

Now, where did we put that beatdown GIF?

Ah yes...

So, it was a happy Mother's Day indeed, with the lone dark cloud being Matt Kemp's injury. He's scheduled for an MRI tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Please be OK, Matty. And if not, please, Dodger training staff, don't rush him back

I know we're essentially posting an Avengers spoiler, but if you haven't seen it yet, it's your own fault.

Ironman has a hamstring tweak and Thor gets tossed from the film for R-rated words?
