Post-Game 33 Thread: 10 Hits Can't Win A Game Against The Lowly Mets

METS 6, DODGERS 3

At least against the 13-18 Mets, we'd have a shot, right? Especially if we had ten hits, and a home run from Rod Barajas? But no, the Dodgers left ducks on the pond all over the place, and David Wright Jason Pridie hit a three-run HR in the bottom of the sixth to put New York ahead 5-3, and there was no fight in these Dodgers--especially not Juan Uribe, 0-for-5 with an RBI but an astounding 6 LOB. Hiroki Kuroda only lasted 5.2 IP (5 ER, 7 H, 3 BB, 3 Ks), and maaaaybe I can see some glimmers in Kenley Jansen's 1.0 IP (1 BB, but 3 Ks). But not much.

And the worst part? This might not even be the worst LA highlight of the night.

I don't think it was Wright - Jason Pridie slugged that HR vs. Hiro.

Yeah, it was Pridie, who Steiner pronounced as "Priddy" and Collins pronounced as "Pry-dee (Pry-dee, gotta get down on Pry-dee)."

Speaking of pronouncing, I'm pronouncing the Dodgers dead.

Jose Reyes is gonna run all the way out of New York before July. He's playing like a guy who wants a new gig.

Painful to watch that Angels win in a cantina whose bartender is an Angels fan. It took all I had to congratulate him.

Looks like the dodgers are the only shot left for LA to win a championship this year.

(cries)

That's not true, Nic. There's still the Galaxy.

And the Sparks.

(couldn't care enough to cry)

The Sparks are still in business? I thought they folded when Leslie left.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that you just know the mavs are just gonna blow it next round.

What the hell is Mitch going to do this summer? This team looks like it need a complete reboot. The only thing is we don't really have anything anyone would want.

I wondered the same thing in the Laker thread.

Well on the bright side Luke Walton only has like 15 more years on his contract.

Kyle Baker said...

Luke will be healthy by 2036.

This is a direct copy-paste from Plaschke's latest "article." This is not a fabrication.

"My understanding was that Jackson had lost his composure, Gasol has lost all confidence, and after a long and distracting season, the Lakers have finally lost all sense of each other."

NicJ said...

I'm sure he already has his "Ethier's streak ended because of the distractions of the dodgers front office" article typed up already.

@Saxy, in person, it wasn't as bad as you made it out to be here. Hiro was shaky for the first two innings but was good from then on, apart from the one pitch to Pridie. Yes, I know they all count, but I felt like we were in pretty good control. For whatever reason, we can't get that last out when we need to. It's been going on for 2 years now.
