MLB's Manfred Responds To McCourt: "Nah Nah, Nah Nah Nah"

Tour the media all you want, says MLB Executive Vice President Rob Manfred: but your dire financial situation, as well as the pace of MLB's investigation, is all your own fault, Frank McCourt:

"Any financial problems faced by the Los Angeles Dodgers are the result of decisions made by Mr. McCourt and his management team over a period of years," MLB executive vice president Rob Manfred said in a statement.

McCourt also has said he has offered full cooperation into Selig's investigation into the Dodgers' finances so that the commissioner can expedite the probe.

"The pace of the commissioner's investigation has been adversely affected by the Dodgers' failure to produce documents in a timely manner and by the complexity of the financial structures surrounding the club," Manfred said. "The commissioner intends to complete the investigation promptly but will not accept less than a thorough investigation."

I talked to three concession stand workers at the May 3 Dodgers game, and asked all three of them if they were taking each paycheck and running straight to the bank to deposit it into their accounts.

Only one laughed.

The Peter Bourjos stolen base is checked off, but didn't make it into my case. In fact, my case is bare, even though I had a (lowly) four badges in there last week.

Halos are curb-stomping the Sawx, btw.

LOL. Mets have a 3-run lead on the Giants. The leadoff man walks in the top of the ninth and then advances to second on defensive indifference. Not sure the Mets can afford to be so indifferent.

Their fans, on the other hand...

Tying run at the plate with one out. Still feeling indifferent, dummies?

Now the winning run at the plate.

Crisis averted. Mets don't completely fail.

Wilson Betemit (KC, double) hits Sax's case as badge #61.

Dude, Betemit's got 11 doubles this year. Wow.

Russell Martin: 0-for-3 today with 2 LOB. Yanks down to their last out, down 6-2 in the ninth

Damn it, I have the Royals game open and I didn't get the Betemit badge. This badges thing is fixed! Fixed, I tell you.

Yup.

@Josh S: According to the box, Bourjos didn't have a SB. Maybe that's why?

My three badge candidates are checkless

Amazing. Frank has owned the team all these years and the Dodgers are still Fox's favorite tax write-off.
