Post-Game 64 Thread: Thunder, Lightning, and a Downpour

DODGERS 12, REDS 0

On a banner day for Los Angeles when the Lakers were drubbing the Celtics to stay alive in the NBA Finals, the Dodgers persevered through a 2.5 hour rain delay to annihilate the Reds by an even dozen in Cincinnati.

Rafael Furcal went 5-for-6 with two RBI and two runs to lead the way (raising his average from .288 to .309). Manny Ramirez went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI and a home run in the cleanup spot. James Loney went 4-for-5 with three doubles and 2 RBI in the five-hole, and Matt Kemp, dropped to the six-hole, went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI of his own. Blake DeWitt went 0-for-4 with 2 Ks and 9 LOB, but hey, who's counting? Save DeWitt, every other starting position player got a hit--and even Ramon Troncoso got an RBI walk on five pitches. Our offense, largely sedated by the Angels, was back in action today.

Hiroki Kuroda muscled through the rain delay to come back out and finish his start (which must have been a real pain in the ass, by the way) and notch the win, with Troncoso, George Sherrill, and Justin Miller contributing to the shutout victory. They ain't all gonna come this easy, certainly not over a division-leading team eight games over .500. But tonight, I'll take it; with San Diego's win we remain a half-game out of first place (and with the Giants' inexplicable loss to the sorry Orioles, we move a full game ahead of the Giants).

All the trouble of posting a PGT and no one's home?

It would be silly for me to complain about the lack of PGTs and then not post in one.

Sax! Didn't see you there.

Nice place you got here. I grabbed some light reading, hope you don't mind. The good stuff was on the bottom of the stack upstairs, took me forever to find it.

Oh, I invited some people over. Is that cool with you?

That's cool! Beer's in the fridge, help yourself.

Hey, she's kinda cute. She's not related to you, right?
