Post-Game 57 Thread: Ellis, You Tiger!

DODGERS 5, BRAVES 4 (11)

The BABIP beast did indeed bite John Ely today, as he allowed his first home run of the season in the fifth inning, to Martin Prado. Three batters later, he allowed his second homer of the season, to Brian McCann. But the Dodgers got Ely off the hook for the loss in the bottom of the inning, coming up with three runs off Tim Hudson to tie the game at four. That's the way it stayed until the 11th, when Russell Martin walked, Blake DeWitt moved him over and A.J. Ellis singled in the winning run.

Good news, too, for the bullpen: Miller, Kuo, Weaver, Broxton and Belisario combined for six scoreless innings. Dodgers get the split against the NL East's hottest team. Bring on the Cards!

These are the type of games that winning teams find a way to win.

on to extras

looks like we'll be getting Carpenter and Wainright this week. I guess we got lucky in missing Jimenez against Colorado and Verlander vs Detroit, so it's fitting we'd get 2 aces in a row

Nice day at the Ravine today. Small crowd, because of the Lakers, became even smaller by the 11th, because of the Lakers.

Ely was shaky, but serviceable. Jose Lima was fantastic doing GBA (posthumously). And, DSB guy was there, once section over from me. I took a picture with my crappy Blackjack phone. I need to upload it and include it in a "At-Game Recap." I'll write one and send it in.

Also, when the hell did the Shortstop take their PBR off tap? $2 now gets you a can instead of a pint.

I call bullshit!

Hey All!!

Working all day outside but was able to come in a few times to see what was going on.

My favorite part of the game was when Brox had two strikes on Heyward in the 9th. A.J. calls Slider...Brox waives him off, A.J. calls change up...Brox waives that off (maybe not in that order)...Brox nods....FUCKIN FASTBALL right by him. No way was Brox going to try to tip toe around that rookie.

Great came for A.J. and James keeps driving them in. If you leave the donuts out he is gonna glaze them.

@Rbn

WTF re: Shorstop???

They have gone the way of the Hipster dufus who needs to show his coolness by holding a tall can of PBR to enjoy the trendyness more than the beer.

Shiiit someone get Stroh's on tap.
