Hiroki Kuroda (5-4, 3.63) vs. Chris Carpenter (7-1, 2.76).

COMMENTS: Yesterday was nice, but let's face it: It ain't happening again tonight. Still, success is possible, even against St. Louis' best.
"With a career 2.20 ERA in six starts against the Dodgers and a perfect 5-0 record when facing L.A., Carpenter appears primed for another dominant outing," says MLB.com. (Uh, make that regular-season starts.) So how can the Dodgers avoid fulfilling this prophesy?
With the exception of Blake DeWitt's home run, the Dodgers nickel-and-dimed their way to victory last night, and they'll have to do the same tonight to have a chance at winning. Carpenter's 2.79 ground ball-to-fly ball ratio (fourth in the NL) means a lot of worm-killers, but his .269 BABIP also means some of those grounders might find a hole. Let's hope.
Also, this will serve as your Game Thread for Lakers @ Celtics (6 p.m. PT on ABC). Go Purple & Gold!

yes there it is!!!
Manny in perpetuity.
would Dre have scored? I am sure he was waiting to see if it was caught
Manny!
Throwing the fastball to Manny. Negligence per se.
MLASF: Why are you down on Manny, other than his three week slump?
Beard Power!
Rancho Ariendo Beard Style.
Because Manny has just sucked since coming off the DL.
take that, Casey!
2-0. Beard's count.
damn - that hurts there. we may need more than 1 run
MLASF: Unfortunately, its either Manny, GA or Johnson. I'll take a slumping Manny out of that mix.
El Rancho De Dewittiando.
come on, Blake, help us out here
The pitcher's beard was mightier than Casey's beard.
I'm not saying that I don't want Manny. I just want him to be better.
You can't pick off the James!!!
#33, I want 3 runs this inning.
MLASF: A few more dingers would be nice too, eh?
keep fighting, Blake!
Dang.
Way to protect your plate De Witt
I'd settle for just some hits.

Yes yes yes!!!
wow that was cool!
that was a lot better than those extra-inning 1-0 games vs the Snakes
I'm not saying it's nothing but coincidence, but we took this game as soon as "Have no fear, Neeebs is here."
oh yeah...
First Place, MoFos!!
Hola Karina, como estas en tu pais?
Neeebs, I believe you deserve at least 62% of the credit for this one
If you are into statistics, we are averaging 6.5 runs so far against the Cards. That's what averages get for you.
we are also averaging 2 wins a season against them for the past two seasons (regular season only)
Hola Neeebs! estoy chévere, gracias, tú? mi paÃs no está tan bien...
Fuiste el amuleto de la buena suerte hoy :)
I have also never seen Neeebs and Kuroda in the same room together.....hmmmmmm
Karina: Todos bien, gracias. La Chilena is getting very excited for the World Cup. I'm going to try to sneak away for a Dodger game or two while she is having Fiesta del Copa.
Paul:
My English is slightly better than Kuroda's. But, you've never seen me and Leonard Nimoy in the same room either.
Terse PGT up.
gnite everybody - gotta get some sleep because we have some broom work to do tomorrow
I never seen Neeebs and Neeebs in the same room. Hmmmm
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Have you seen Neeebs and DB in the same room?
I've never seen DB for that matter.
For the record; I have been in the same room as Tommy Lasorda, but he got all the attention.
