Diamondbacks Aren't Getting Closer To The Hall This Year (Or The Oates, For That Matter)

Longtime readers of this blog know that Delino (and to a lesser extent, yours truly) is a big Hall and Oates fan. I know, who isn't? They put that Sara Smile on all of us.

But now it seems that Hall and Oates, who appeared at Citizens Bank Park last year, draw the line at visiting the NL West cellar-dwelling Diamondbacks:

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that the July 2 postgame concert with Hall and Oates has been canceled because of the artists' objection to the state's immigration law.

Artists Daryl Hall and John Oates released a statement:

"In addition to our personal convictions, we are standing in solidarity with the music community in our boycott of performing in Arizona at this time. We would like to emphasize that this has nothing to do with the management of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have been professional and cooperative throughout our dealings with them. This is our response to a very specific action of the state."

No Hall and Oates post-game concert? Say It Isn't So!

They can't go for that.

Indians summon Carlos Santana for weekend series against Strasburg and the Nats. Now if they would just trade for (Bill) Hall and (Seattle minor leaguer Brian) Oat(e)s to complete the rocker lineup we might have something.

According to the DodgertownUSA Twitter, tweets marked with #ThinkCure may end up on the ribbon board at Dodger Stadium tonight.

Do you think my idea...

"Positive energy doesn't have to cost six figures. Give what you can. #ThinkCure"

...will make it?

When I was at the stadium on Sunday, I was going to text: "SOSG up in this bish" to the Verizon people and see if it would get up on the ribbon.

Use that as your secondary plan.
