Post-Game 96 Thread: Two-Out Madness

MARLINS 6, DODGERS 3

Clayton Kershaw was solid but not spectacular, allowing three runs over six innings. However, the Marlins had baserunners in every inning, and it was that sixth inning that was the most painful to watch.

With two out, Emilio Bonafacio hit a bloop to shallow right that Andre Ethier had a slight chance to catch. But Orlando Hudson was clearly trying to re-create his spectacular third-inning catch in the same area, so Ethier pulled up short. Hudson missed, moving a runner to third. Then Kershaw wild-pitched in a run, and Hudson made a brainfart throwing error on Wes Helms' infield single, giving the Marlins another run.

The Dodgers tied it up at 3-3, but with two out in the seventh, James McDonald allowed a single and a walk and Brent Leach allowed an RBI single to Jeremy Hermida. And in the eighth, after allowing a Chris Coghlan home run (he must not have enjoyed his role in our latest PCS puzzle), Ramon Troncoso gave up, that's right, a two-out RBI single to Jorge Cantu.

Two-out runs scored by the Marlins: four.

Credit to Josh Johnson, who got the win by limiting the Dodgers to three runs over seven innings. Hiroki Kuroda versus Rick VandenHurk tomorrow. VandenHurk. VandenHurk.

Apodaca apodaca apodaca

even still, a five- game winning streak wasn't all bad. I'll go tomorrow night to ensure a victory.

VandenHurk huh? Sounds like we have a Dutch Werper on the mound. Lets hope he doesnt have great command of the Slagzone.

Ill try to remember more dutch baseball terms, i may have to call my Opa though.

Lets hope its a great Honkbal game for the Dodgers.

MLASF with a Dodger avi?

That game was painful to watch, mainly because I was stuck at a sports bar listening to a horrible cover band (one of our teammates had her birthday last night and loves the band. . .she must also love the "Wedding Singer"). Between the two, I managed to do a lot of drinking to wash away the pain.

It worked.
