Post-Game 94 Thread: Howler

DODGERS 12, REDS 3

Scary moment: Manny Ramirez got plunked on the left hand by an errant Homer Bailey pitch in the the third inning. Thankfully, X-rays were negative and Manny is listed as day-to-day.

Other than that, Bailey was the Dodgers' MVP, giving up nine runs (six earned) over 2 2/3 innings. Matt Kemp (batting eighth again) and Rafael Furcal (four RBIs) each hit home runs. Randy Wolf cruised, allowing two runs over 7 1/3 innings.

Billingsley vs. Arroyo tomorrow. The Dodgers are a season-high 26 games over .500 and they've got four straight and a series win. Time to think sweep!

I better see a damn win tomorrow. Ill be there with manny bobblehead in hand.

Kuo pitched another scoreless inning tonight in IE, but why the hell are they using him on back-to-back nights?!?

Bronson Arroyo is about about as different a name from Homer Bailey as you can get.

Plus, he's a weirdo, so of course I can't help but kind of like him.

Nic: To test how he feels after pitching back-to-back nights, natch.

With as many elbow surgeries as that guy has had he shouldn't be pitching on back to back games at all. Much less a rehab start in A+ ball.

Unless he pitched tonight right-handed just for kicks.

How long is the streak of losing games of the Reds at Dodgers Stadium? 11 or 12. I'm not sure if they should ever leave LA.

"Plus, he's a weirdo, so of course I can't help but kind of like him."

can i take that as excuse for tomorrow's game?

The last time the Dodgers were 26 games over .500 was the end of the 1991 season. Been a while!

+9.0 games over Colorado. That's a nice feeling.

@karina,

Many people say the same about me, so go ahead!

@ Karina, I think it's 11 straight losses. The pirates have lost 18 straight at the brewers' miller park, btw.

I have one word for Homer Bailey...

Mahalo

By the way, I'm strangely curious about these GothScene ads. Clearly, they're targeting SoSG readers; any of you have some stories to share??!!

I think Vin said there's been ~40 years since the last Reds #1 draft pick pitcher panned out. Tough odds for Mr. Bailey.

Argh! I'm no longer Facebook friends with Matt Kemp, Blake Dewitt, and Chad Billingsley =(. I guess they got too famous, or those accounts were fake after all and got shut down.

I was going to tag Matt Kemp with pictures I took from Sunday's game.
