Post-Game 86 Thread: Matt Kemp's F.U. Moment(s)

UPDATE:

DODGERS 12, BREWERS 8 (10)

Dear All-Star Selection Committee:

Hi, it's Matt Kemp. The one you passed over to replace the injured Carlos Beltran so Charlie Manuel could have his whole damn outfield in St. Louis? Yeah, that's me.

You might want to know I hit a tenth-inning grand slam — my third of the season! — to help give the Dodgers an inspiring come-from-behind victory over the Brewers tonight. Helped out my All-Star teammates, Chad Billingsley and Jonathan Broxton, who weren't so hot tonight.

Anyhoo, have fun without me! I'll be at home getting ready for our playoff run.

Yours truly,
The Bison

P.S.: Oh yeah — just for kicks, I ended the game like this:

I hate myself for missing this.

That was an AMAZING CATCH. Damn, he is good. Screw the MLB voters - he is an all star in my book!

I'm changing my name to MLASF because he pimped my line.

I NEED to see a replay of that catch. Probably YOUTUBE tomorrow or Dodger website tomorrow.

though the freeze frames on SOSG are great.

Or ESPN Web Gems. #1 or bust!

Definitely great screenshots.

Orel, while I admire your optimism, there is no way a West-Coast player gets a #1 web-gem.

I just saw "the catch" on the Dodgers website. I feel better. Incredible.

Sanchez for Giants working a no-hitter in the ninth. JINX

Kinda just makes your day, doesn't it?

My day has just been ruined.

Matt Kemp is the best center fielder in the game today! Werth is probably the best right fielder. But Victorino is terrible. There is no reason the Hudson should be in over the Bearded one, but he is. I'm glad Hudson is in, but Casey should be in as well. The All-Star game is a joke.

At least next year we will have like 14 players in it because we will have our manager choosing who gets in.

Orel said...

Ah, congrats to him.

Not even a Giant no-hitter can make me upset after Matt Kemp's game today.

It makes me hate Cody Ross even more.

Juan Uribe for gold glove!

eh, congrats to Sanchez.
glad it wasnt Lince or Cain lol can you imagine those fans?

all i'll say is, Anibal Sanchez through one a few years ago...

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

If there is a shining beacon to this, the Giants cannot trade Sanchez now, or else they will face the wrath of their fans. He could be worse than shit for the rest of the season, but all the fans will remember is the no-hitter.

Orel, I've had a tough day. You are right, this does make my day.

I made a wisecrack about it in the game thread, but in all seriousness, it's pretty cool to see a guy who could have been killed by Mike Cameron's line drive come back to throw a no-no.

And good LORD, who flipped on Kemp's awesome switch?

Bison's catch also made the Premier Plays on MLB Network.

kemp is under everyone's radar.

i just cant believe how Pence is in over Kemp.
amazing.

Kemp: 11 Hr
Pence: 11 HR

Kemp: 50 RBI's
Pence: 37 RBI's

Kemp: .324/.389/.503
Pence: .302/.371/.482

I love how after he made that catch he spit his gum out and hit it with his hand a la Mr. Perfect.

The 8th pic shows another reason to like Juan Pierre: his telekinesis.

Am I ever sorry I missed that game. . .or at least the end.

Lost in all of this is the question, "What's up with Brox?"

Kyle Baker said...

Brox seems to save his worst for when he hasn't had playing time for a few days. Think about when he missed several days because his wife gave birth. When he came back, he was rusty. Fast forward to more recently, when he hasn't gotten in any work, and again he looked rusty. I know it's hard to regulate because the game dictates when and if he makes it in, but hopefully Torre will keep in mind his recent history and know he does better when he gets regular work. Plus, it keeps the pounds off.
