Post-Game 80 Thread: Showing Up

DODGERS 6, PADRES 3

Sign of the game.

"Eighty percent of success is showing up," Woody Allen said, and Manny Ramirez did just that. Although he's still in summer-training mode (0-for-3, 1 BB), the Dodgers seemed energized by his mere presence, batting around the order and scoring five runs off Chad Gaudin in the first inning. And when Joe Torre removed Manny in the sixth, Hiroki Kuroda wobbled, allowing the Padres to get within three runs. But the bully (Guillermo Mota, Ramon Troncoso, Brent Leach and Jonathan Broxton) was again bully and that's where the score stayed. Welcome back, Manny!

Zeroes in the last three frames helps.

Just think about how good we'll be when Manny starts hitting. Wow.

This was a great game. There was so many signs showing support for manny and the dodgers. Kinda goes against the theory that LA fans are not passionate. I'm going again tomorrow so we will see how that one is.

Also, some guy was selling tranny ramirez shirts in the parking lot. They were pretty hilarious i'll try to snap
a photo of one if he is there tomorrow.

This Randy Wolf "Before The Bigs" was produced the last time he was on the team, yes?

Yes, to my recollection

I had a buddy texting me while watching the bizarro LA team play the Orioles. It seems that they had a bizarro mirror score of the Dodger game all night. 5-0, 0-5; 6-1, 1-6; 6-3, 3-6. Weird.

It's a nice piece, as most of these Prime Ticket specials are.

If they do Mitch Jones: Before The Bigs, it's gonna be looooooonnnnng.

And both the Dodger and Angel games featured the return of a key player: Manny and Ervin Santana.

Watching the local San Diego news in my hotel. The newscasters are very snarky about all the fan support for Manny. Maybe if they had a decent team the stadium wouldn't be filled with dodger fans.

Also, fritz Coleman is the weatherman down here too!

Looked like more Dodger fans than Pod's fans in the house.
Bee-yoo-tee-full.

Fritz is down there now? Things collapsed after Fred from Fritz and Fred diod something wrong - cant' remember what that was.
I also like those Prime Ticket spots, but they never show them on HD, so I miss alot of them because I only watch HD channels - I know I am a TV snob.

According to Wikipedia:

"Fritz Coleman (b. May 27, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is a weathercaster for KNSD-TV in San Diego, California as of Monday, June 29, 2009."

How strange. Seems like quite the demotion.
