Just Another Game

Except I sat here:

And I didn't park near the Police Academy to avoid paying $89 or whatever it costs:

And an above-average hitter returned to the lineup after getting a two-month slap on the wrist for trying to get in touch with his feminine side:

And for one day, I joined the ranks of baseball's elite - the hardworking men and women of the press corps:

It was a glorious day - I got to see Juan Pierre without a shirt on:

I got to log on to the Dodgers mainframe - and thus control EVERYTHING:

I journeyed into the Dodgers locker room (sorry fellas, no pics allowed). I watched Andre Ethier tackle such hard hitting questions as "What's Your Favorite Kind of Japanese Food?" I listened to reporters uniformly dismiss fans for supporting Manny.

I struggled with the reporter etiquette of not cheering in the press booth (especially with some of those fielding gems). I got to hear Vin Scully sing while warming up. I had free hot dogs, free cookies, and stood a few feet from the mighty Joe Torre:

I sat in the Dodgers' dugout and drank from their water AND Powerade (cause reporters need electrolytes too):

And there was a game too - but the less said about it, the better. So an enormous and most humble thanks to Josh Rawitch and the Dodgers for treating Bloggers like people too. But now that I've seen how the other half lives, I'm not sure I can return to the more plebeian lifestyle of the average fan. Although with the ten two-for-one ticket vouchers currently burning a hole in my pocket, I might have to.

I waved from the reserve level (section 28).
Did you see me?

BTW, what the hell with all the beach balls? Seems like the BB activity is up over last year and far ahead of the activity at Anaheim. Not good.

Good stuff, Delino! Can't believe you drank from the Holy Grail.

I get my first crack at the blogger box on Monday. I'd love to hear any tips you might throw my way.

Nice update Delino. It was clearly an exhausting day as you must have been horizontal for the last two pictures!

And now you have also joined SoSG AC as the only Sons who have seen a loss...

Ah ha! So the Dodgers DO have some sort of deal with Powerade. That explains why Ethier's walk-off homer wasn't in the "Walk-off Homers of 2009" Gatorade commercial.

I'll try to answer all your queries in order.

RBNLAW - Alas, I did not see you. And now you have seen my true face... or have you (evil laugh). From my perch, it was fun seeing the beach balls drop from right above. It was like colorful, large snow.

Dugout - Will send you my two cents.

Sax - pictures horizontal they were as I ran to my other job (the one that puts food in my dog's bowl)

xei - he dodged the question like he was being considered for the supreme court.

Josh - Powerade has offered me a contract too. But I turned them down. Still hoping the old school drink Orbitz gives me a call.

I think the Dodgers should just give in and have a beach ball night sponsored by the 99 Cent stores. 50,000 beach balls would be a sight. The game would take 10 hours to play.

P.S. I usually pop them when they come my way.

Hey Delino. Did they give you one of those two flapped helmets you used to wear when reminding us every day that Pedro Martinez was a product of the Dodger organization?

Delino, you have another job besides SoSG? I'm going to report you to SoSG HR, that's a conflict of interest.
