Dodgers - The Best of the Middle

According to MSN.com's pre-season power rankings, the Dodgers rank a respectable 11th place:

They probably have the best rotation in the NL, but the offense could be problematic. In particular, the Dodgers figure to get sub-optimal production from each outfield spot. With that said, pitching will keep them in the race.

Somehow, the Diamondbacks are higher ranked (9) under the assumption that potential = production. But on the glass half not-empty side, MSN predicts that the defending chump Cards might not finish above .500 (13), the always hatable Braves are close to the cellar (19), the Royals aren't ranked last (28), and the Giants look to suck early and often (25).

Yawn. The Yankees are #1? Did this guy do this homework at all? Talk about ranking on potential rather than performance - the Indians at #2 over the Tigers & Mets? What? How does this writer have a job?

I think ranking the Indians Number 2 is a sports writer's attempt to come off as edgy. It ain't working.

Wow. I knew Sheff was pissed at having to leave the Yank-Me's, but it sounds like he still has some unresolved issues.
