Clayton Kershaw (3-2, 1.66) vs. Wade Miley (2-1, 3.06).
Can the Dodgers do it?
The last time the Dodgers had a six-game losing streak this year, from April 14-20, they ruined their chances by going out and beating Baltimore in the final game, 7-4. Tonight, they have a chance at a septacular, craptacular seven-game losing streak yet again. And they can't blow this opportunity, since the next one wouldn't roll around until (at this pace) May 20th (vs the Brewers and Cardinals; you may laugh, but it could happen!).
If the Dodgers are going to have a shot at their first seven-game losing streak since June 14-20, 2012, they're going to need Clayton Kershaw to not replicate his last outing of 7.0 IP, 1 ER ball, in a game that was ultimately lost by Ronald Belisario serving up a meatball to Oyster Pubes for a walk-off HR.
No, Kershaw would have to pitch poorly tonight, ideally closely enough so that the fate of the game's outcome gets handed to Brandon League, blower of last night's game not to mention two losses in his last two appearances. League has been fine-tuning a special pitch for just this situation!
Wade Miley, on the other hand, is off to a great 2013, with ERA, ERA+, and K/9 season statistics at career-best levels. If he can lead his Diamondback brethren to the sweep tonight, he can help the Dodgers achieve their goal. Dodgers coach Don Mattingly could also help this out by making sure Luis Cruz and Justin Sellers get starts this evening.
Oh, and SoSG AC will be at tonight's game, on hand to record potential history! Join him by purchasing Dodgers tickets here!
UPDATE 7:31p: And here's a random screen shot from today's game, in progress--not a lot of people there (at least, during Kemp's first AB):

Romo blew a save again, but Giants about to walk off again in the 10th. Hate them so hard.
FedEx up, SellBlock down.
Huh? Someone explain way a team with this much money needs to hold on to the corpse of Ramon Hernandez.
^ why
PVL, baby.
Sigh. I really really hate the giants.
Go Mr. F!
This is the first time I've seen the video of what Matty did for the kid in frisco. What a class act.
Giants indeed won.
Rox tied with YankMes at 2 in the fifth.
SD also won, guaranteeing we'll be in the cellar at least one more day.
0-0 in the Kings game
Dodgers game is on channel 9 KCAL due to NHL playoffs
Crawford sits; Dee Gordon bats leadoff and Elian Herrera takes left field. Urine plays.
Los Angeles Dodgers:
1. SS: Dee Gordon
2. 2B: Nick Punto
3. CF: Matt Kemp
4. 1B: Adrian Gonzalez
5. C: A.J. Ellis
6. RF: Andre Ethier
7. 3B: Juan Uribe
8. LF: Elian Herrera
9. SP: Clayton Kershaw
After what I think was the best homerun in MLB history (Bobby Thompson cheated) It is really disappointing that Kirk Gibson has come back to haunt us.
Uribe stands there and watches the ball go right past him into right field for a one-out double.
Just ran in the house after getting home from work.
1) On the sofa, Vinny! (even though you didn't ask where we be tonight during your opening)
2) Whoa! We made some roster moves.
Leadoff double for the D'backs. Clayton's been sitting near Beckett in the dugout.
E-1?
Dee Gordon ALMOST botches the inning-ending double play when he drops the grounder hit to him. However he recovers, and the Dodgers get out of the first 0-0.
Damn, Clay.
We got this, though.
I think.
All right, Dee, whatcha got?
0-2 count to Dee quickly.
Dee strikes out on a bad ball. And there you have it.
Great, Punto is one of few players who have been generating much offense lately, so we have him bunt.
Kemp has had success against sMiley in the past. Good time for a feel-good HR right here, Matt.
Punto pulls a Dee Gordon and tries to bunt his way on. He's thrown out easily.
Miley has expended four small pitches to the first two batters.
AC! I see you!
Just updated the GT with a random screenshot.
0-0 through 1.5
What's the story with the screenshot, Sax?
AJ Ellis grounds to second for the second out
outOutOUT!!!!
DAMMIT, boys.
I C U too! You are th first base coach for the Dbags
Angels lose!
Angels lose!
Clayton looks a little shakier than normal
@Dusty 7:37p: Just wanted to show attendance at the game...
deep fly ball to right but Clayton gets out of the third
Got it Sax. Man, that is random.
Juan Base Percentage up to bat.
1-1 in the Kings game after 2nd period.
Elian Herrera better do well or Janet Reno is going to order him back to rejoin his father in Cuba.
Ugh, mlb.tv has been messed up all game. Stupid update from flash or shockwave or whatever.
Kid K had longest AB of Dodger batters this game (9)?
#Patience
Kershaw just lassoed a rodeo clown!
Picked off at first
That pickoff was all because of Sax.
Uribe's throws are baaaaaarely making it to A-Gon without a bounce.
Maybe Juan needs to eat some more wheaties?
Foul ball wide of first base, A-Gon comes screaming in and drops the ball...while AJ Ellis stands there totally avail to make the play.
Come on, guys. TALK
...and Kershaw promptly disposes of the batter with a curveball for the K
Lets's. Get. Some. God. Damn. Runs.
Kings score!!! 2-1 LA.
Skinny Swag up in dis bish!!!!!!!
Gordon bloop single, and Punto double into the corner!
Gordon scores from first base, 1-0 Dodgers!
Dodgers lead! Kings lead!
Kemp sacrifices Punto to third, but it doesn't matter--A-Gon doubles him in anyway, with a shot to right.
2-0 Dodgers
a lead? for real?
Nothing like a lead to bring FB out of hiding.
Ethier singles. Men at corners for Urine, two out
Urine's first pitch is a wild-ass swinging strike
Happy b-day to RBN, by the way.
Urine's second pitch is a wild-ass swinging strike, but at least he fouls this one off
wow - I am way behind here. I like it when Sax predicts the future though
Urine's third pitch is a wild-ass swinging strike, that he barely tips for the foul
Urine's fourth pitch is a wild-ass swinging strike fouled wide of third
Urine's fifth pitch is a wild-ass swinging strike....wait a second, he took a ball!
Urine's sixth pitch is a wild-ass swinging easy fly ball to right.
2-0 through four.
FB brings a lead out of hiding?
@Fred's Brim: I foresee you will be profoundly disappointed by the outcome of this game.
Great, Gonzo is re-injured.
Urine moves to first.
Cruz moves to third.
BLACK HOLES OF OFFENSE AT THE CORNERS!
This one just went shit sandwich quickly.
goddamit, Adrian
#UrineFail
Cruz nearly caught a bad one there
Come on, Baseball Gods. Smile on us in return for Matt Kemp's recent gesture to a fan.
Clayton pitches a scoreless fifth. 2-0 through 4.5.
Kershaw pitch count is up there. Gonna have to depend on the bullpen.
YankMes take a 3-2 lead on the Rox
Is that Kristine Leahy at the bottom of my screen?
Johnsonville brats: Better grilled over charcoal, or propane? Or does it matter?
OK guys and gals, gotta run. Hold this game for Saxy.
4:29 to go. 2-1 Kings. Sphincter: totally puckered.
At least Dee is looking good.
Say that again Paul?
@Sax
Definitely charcoal.
yeesh
at least we have our best hitter leading off the next inning
At least I don't have a million dollars.
yuck - it felt like that was coming at some point
At least fuck the Gnats.
Less than a minute to go! AAAHHHHHH!!!
Dee has a serious memory problem. He repeats the same errors over and over.
Dee =/= D
I hate him SO MUCH!
More than I hate Carlos Gonzales
Fuck. 2-2 tie with 40 seconds left.
Dodgers tied! Kings tied!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RBN
Yup.
I can't wait for this to all turn around. It has to, right?
We can't stay these pathetic lumps of unlucky shits forever, can we?
Let's be like Ellis Island. If your name doesn't fit on your jersey, we are allowed to shorten it. Hence, your new name is Goldshit.
Can I get a (cries) ???
cc: Mr. F
I ain't scared to say it: i like to see Matty hit

Sax in the trivia question tonight.
@Cliff :(
at least we only have to face Goldschmidt twice more tonight
Deuces wild for both Dodgers and Kings.
BJ 8:45...Goldshit. How perfect for that mofo.
Behind him 2-0.
SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!! KINGS WIN!
Ehh
Gold fucked.
Goldshit. Again.
you have to be kidding me
that makes no sense
Goldshit is a good description for this highly paid Dodger team
somebody put a fastball on his wrist
Good job, Kings! Showing lots of heart, down 2-0 in the series and then 2-0 in the third game, only to even the series and now go ahead 3-2 on the road.
Dodgers, please take note.
Can we beat up Goldshit in the parking lot?
Yeah what I said about Dee.....
The 1997 Cubs lost 14 in a row. We are almost halfway there.
at least this game is going quickly...
Beli up. That's exactly how this game will end.
Goddammit, you're bringin' me down, Dodgers!
I'm going to bed after Kemp hits.
The good news about being in the cellar is that this is where the wine is kept.
The good news about being in the cellar is that this is where the wine is kept.
Come on Matt.
Geez, if Zeigler's pants were any tighter they'd be behind him.
This team is beyond awful.
Oh Matty. Bad AB.
that was sad
we gotta figure out how to scratch out some wins somehow, just try to play .500 ball for a while
Why am I still up?
Don't tease me.
Leadoff double, bishes! This ain't over.
"The good news about being in the cellar is that this is where the wine is kept."
Well said, BJ.
Though I'm on the gin and tonics tonight.
Take this slob out.
The one positive I can take from tonight: Skip Schumaker wearing his socks the proper way.
Dre wake up please.
cmon, Dre! find the magic again!
Bum.
Come on, Dre. Do this for Eazy.
Remember when Ethier used to hit homeruns to win games? Seems sooo long ago.
This is where Donnie gives the bunt sign. Lol
Something about 2s....
PGT UP!
I've forgotten what it feels like to win.
Done as done.
And on the 7th loss they rested. Fuck them.
