Post-Game 80 Thread: Dodgers Startin' Something?

DODGERS 8, METS 3

It's waaaaaaay too early to call a nationally televised, 8-3 win over the Mets a trajectory-changing game. After all, the Dodgers lost the first three games of the series to the Mets, and still sit a game out of first place in the NL West as we approach the halfway point of the season.

But today's game was a nice glimmer of hope for the Dodgers. We batted around in the seventh, including a RBI double from James Loney (who went 1-for-4 and had 2 RBI). Dee Gordon had a multi-hit game (to go with a multi-error game, however; and, he pulled up lame and was removed in the top of the ninth). Clayton Kershaw (7.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 9 Ks, 0 HR) pitched a great game and actually got some run support. Heck, even Adam Kennedy had two hits.

Too early for celebration? Perhaps. But given the dearth of scoring over the prior six games, we'll take it. Start the music, grab your pulsing crotches, bring on the Reds tomorrow, and we'll see if today was the Dodgers startin' something.
