Kenley Jansen's mental lapse on Saturday night started the Dodgers on a descent into chaos that included an elbow injury for Chad Billingsley, and every position player forgetting where first base was*. Now, they have to pull themselves out of the hole they've dug for themselves in both the division AND the Wild Card.
Now, the Phillies are holding the shovel and looking to throw more dirt. The Phils are still pretty bad, but definitely improved from when the Dodgers swept them back in June. Ryan Howard and Chase Utley are back, and Roy Halladay returns tomorrow. (He'll face the Dodgers' mighty ace, "TBD.")
But we got back a little someone by the name of Matt Kemp, so I'd call it even. Grab your headlamp, Matty, and lead us out of here!
*In case you're still not sure, first base is where James Loney is standing. Or, maybe Juan Rivera. Or, it could be some guy Ned gives up too much to get. Ah hell, just throw it in the general direction of Davey Lopes.
