Scoreboard Watching: June 23, 2011

The Dodgers are idle today, so why not spend lunchtime watching Twins @ Giants, where Tim Lincecum faces Brian Duensing? Let's hope Madison Bumgarner talked with Timmah last night to give him some pointers on how to best pitch to the Twins. And, tell him to wash his hair. A Twins victory would move us only 6.5 GB the second-place Giants!

Meanwhile, Seattle at Washington is a game of attrition in which neither team can score, going into the eighth inning ad I type this out. Yawn. Kinda reminds me of a Dodgers game, actually.

Just found out I can't make my first game of the season and my first all you can eat experience tomorrow night! Damn! Sorry to use the SoSG blog for this, but does anyone want two all-you-can-eat-pavilion tickets in row F for a good price. I'd rather hook up a SoSG fan.

I can't use 'em, sorry....

Have a friend coming in from New York, last minute and she is only here for two days. I would take her to the game but she is not getting in until 7:00.

now that changes everything. I'm sure there's a SoSGer who would love to take her to the game...

In other news, Jim Riggleman resigns as Nationals coach right after his team wins in walk-off fashion.

Hmm.

Giants up 1-0 through six. Twins have only three hits.

Buy me a drink, sailor!

The Riggleman news was weird.

But, Go Nats! Winners of 11 of their last 12. Can't wait to get to their Yard next weekend.

One of these days some of you folk will have to explain this "I like more than one team" biz to me. I don't get it.

@Spank: With some of us, it's familial ties. My dad's from Milwaukee, so I have an affinity for the Brewers. (Though it's weird, my mom's from Boston and I have no particular love for the Sox.)

Do I want to see the Brewers succeed over the Dodgers? Hell no.

For me, it's pretty simple. I hate the Giants and I hate the Yankees, on general principle.

My allegiances are to teams that are most likely to ruin their fun.

(insert obligatory "So you're a Rays and Rockies fan?" joke here)

(cries)

@Spanky--I too bleed only Dodger Blue. However, I do root for who ever is playing the gnats on any given day. Anything to screw with the evil doers.
