Ted Lilly (5-7, 4.63) vs. Brian Duensing (4-7, 4.54).
Here we are, at the halfway point of the season. And it already seems like an eternity, thanks to the gut-wrenching escapades of Frank and Jamie McCourt and their unbridled avarice and selfishness. But why be dour, particularly when playing in a ballpark where the Dodgers are averaging 15 runs and 25 hits per game (all-time)? And after the fine hospitality that the fine folks from Target Field showed us yesterday, here's hoping I won't be Duensing-ing the praises of the Twins' pitching staff after today's game.

Looks like Frank will make payroll on Thursday. MLB agreed to let him take the first chunk of the $150 MM loan he arranged along with the bankruptcy filling.
DAMMIT!
WE SUCK: HEDGE FUND EDITION
How incompetent and ill-prepared could the MLB lawyers be? They didn't prepare for Frank to do this in advance? They aren't threatening to file against Frank to stop him from seeking protection on his own terms rather than MLBs offer when they'd clearly taken control of financial decisions in value greater than $X (was it $5K I read, or some multiple of that)? Why are they sitting by and not protecting this sport? This man is out of control, why are they so God-damned weak?
Bud, grow a pair.
Would they have been better off not making their decision on the Fox deal and just hoping he didn't make the payroll? Or would he still have filed bankruptcy anyway?
Like any horror movie we have to think Frank is dead several times before the ending.
@DodgersKings323: good question. even delaying the decision on the fox deal *may* have made it a tight window for Frank to have found alternatives.
Damn lawyers!

Damn carpet bagger lawyers! Just a few weeks ago some fancy big shot LA laaawyer was down here causIng trouble ...and begging for quarters.
He did play a mean banjo.
The thrill is gone the dream is over.
Nothing like a Ted Lilly start to remind you that you're watching a bankrupt ball club.
Not looking so hot.
I think we will need more runs than we're going to get…
Take heart in the last game we have averaged over 10 runs!
Men at the corners with one out for Kemp, here in the fourth.
Lilly is really shaky. And he can't hold runners worth a lick.
Kemp sac fly, 3-1 Twins
"Juan Uribe is really the guy you need to get going froman offensive standpoint." -Rick Monday
NO SHIT, RICK
I can't take Rick as the color guy, but as the play-by-play he is horrrrrrible
I implied this last night, but it bears repeating: I dislike this center field camera.
@Sax:
SLAMMED INTO RIGHT
SLAMMED INTO CENTER
SLAMMED INTO LEFT
For EVERYTHING, even if it's caught.
Wow Jason Repko.
Dear Lilly and Ellis
When a base runner reaches, they may advance further by stealing bases. You may want to watch out for that.
Sincerely,
Sax
Aaron Miles, you're a sieve with the glove
WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?
Someone has hacked Yahoo. It says that Aaron Miles just hit a home run.
Aaron Miles is indeed hacking something
A HR would be nice here Blake
Dick Vitale just made the funniest joke about Johnny Damon getting into the Hall of Fame on twitter. I just laughed and laughed.
Rancho ardiendo for Ethier
If we don't score here, my laughter will be replaced with murderous rage.
We score!
Ethier ties it!
Rick Monday, astounding us with math skills!
You tell that scoreboard who's boss, Rick
Rick Monday 1, Scoreboard Operator 0
It appears that Sax is the one full of murderous rage.
Oh, goddammit.
Faaaaaaack.
I notice whenever I post on here the Dodgers usually lose....but then again.
These umps are really pissing me off.
Karma for the Dee call on Sunday?
Nah, I say shitty ump.
Huh. Replay does show he was out. Bleh.
This one's slippin' away, kids. Should have started the Aussie.
MSBs activate!
Only whathisface third walk in 32 innings.
I wouldn't pinch hit Dinner for a corpse.
Navarro pinch hitting again. Ha ha ha ha. It is funny cause we suck.
I want yesterday's Tony back.
Get a walk Tony!
Just double Caps walk total. Don't waste this opp Beard!
Lock in the beard. 2-0.
Booooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
Awww shit. Good thing Navarro was used.
Brian Duensing badge. Yippy skippy.
If the Dodgers had won every game Aaron Miles has homered in...oh fuck it.
Four runs is a goldmine for this team...
...except when Lilly's on the hill.
Well, I guess I better get packing.
Literally.
At the Mariners - Braves game (owner's suite, bitches) and our old friend, George Sherrill just entered the game for Atlanta. This should end well.
And George gets pulled after giving up a run on 3 hits (and caught stealing) in 0.2 innings. Two on base still his responsiblity.
@Jason - Did you commit identity theft like that guy in Anaheim?
Flat Breezy gets lucky and his relief gets him out of the inning.
Semi-related note: I think the Mariners GM just had me cut off at the bar... go Braves?
Its a Confederacy of Duensings I tell you.
@Marla
No need, I work for the company that owns the team and get up here once per season.
Perks be damned.
