Joe Morgan's Vin Scully Story

Joe Morgan, from tonight's ESPN broadcast:

Friday when I was here [at Dodger Stadium]...I sat down there [on the field level] with Frank McCourt and of course Tommy Lasorda and we're all there and I sat with them, and the game looked different down there. I have been watching the game from up here for over twenty years....

They told me a great story about Vin Scully. Vin Scully has been with the Dodgers fifty-five years. So they asked him to go with them to Boston, when they were going to play the Red Sox. And so they went, and they asked him to sit with them. And so he sat down there on the field with them...and they asked him how many times he had sat down there.

And he said, "This is the first time ever."

Scully has been with the Dodgers sixty years. That game must have been in 2004, when the Dodgers visited Fenway Park from June 11 to 13. They went 1-2 in the three-game series.
