Dodgers start Derek Lowe, RHP (2-1, 3.79) vs. Rodrigo Lopez, RHP (1-0, 1.38).
Dodgers: 10-4 (1st place NL West, best record in the major leagues, --GB, W3)
Rockies: 6-8 (4th place NL West, 4.0 GB, W1)
From Dodgers.com, the scouting report on the starters:
Dodgers: Working with an early five-run cushion, Lowe cruised to an easy 9-1 victory over the Padres on Friday night. Lowe consistently hit the strike zone with his sinker, inducing 12 groundball outs. He went eight innings, giving up seven hits and one run with six strikeouts. Lowe was 2-1 with a 3.60 ERA in four starts against the D-Backs last season.Rockies: Lopez held the Dodgers to one run in six innings and threw just 68 pitches before being removed for a pinch-hitter in his no-decision on Tuesday night. Lopez had a key double-play grounder in the first and pitched out of a one-out, bases-loaded situation in the fourth. Originally scheduled to pitch Sunday at Arizona, Lopez was backed up because of right elbow inflammation.

Dodgers are the first and only team to 10 wins. The streak is three in a row and 10 of 12. Not much more to say than that, so let's go, Blue!

You show the Dodgers as playing the Rockies and then describe the pitcher as being from the D-backs. I'm confused.
Whoops, my bad. Someone will be fired for that. Corrected.
Yikes. I know Martin needs a rest, but Lieberthal extinguishing the first-inning rally with RISP hurts.
Shaky first inning, but Lowe was able to get the ground out double play from Todd Helton (of all people). Steve Finley and Garrett Atkins hit the ball far, though, and we don't like to see fly outs when Lowe is on the mound!
Ethier looks like he's getting his groove back--nice triple and Clark scores him on the next at bat. 1-0, Dodgers.
If anyone saw that SB attempt by Brady Clark, I'd like to know how badly he was thrown out by Yorvit.
What a surprise, Betemit Ks.
Lowe is off to antoher shaky inning, with a leadoff double followed up by a walk. No out, two on, in the bottom of the second.
Acc to Gameday, the double was (like Finley's in the first) cranked to the fence. Gimme some grounders, D Lowe!
Juan Pierre, 2-for-2 today ladies and gentlemen. 3-2 count on Nomah, so Pierre will be off and running with two out...
...unless they just throw him out at second that is. Oh well.
Lowe gets touched but recovers nicely. C'mon bats!
Lowe' tightrope finally snapped tonight. 5-2 and we aren't out of the inning,
Did someone tell Lowe this was opening day? Tsao enters the game.
Dodger bullpen ERA is 2.22, about a run better than the starters.
Tsao gets out of the fifth.
Hey just got here, why is Lieberthal batting 4th???? If that was from the start of the game, why not put the guy with the hot bat - ie Ethier.
Caught the last third of the game. Looks like Grady threw this one away from the start with his lineup selection and batting order. He seemed to leave Rudy in a little too long, but I guess he resigned to losing this one and coming back strong for Hendrickson tomorrow. Hope we play better (and use our starters).
