Post-Game 64 Thread: Hit by Bitch

"Hey girl, don't touch Puig."

DODGERS 5, D'BAGS 3

Carlos who? The Dodgers actually won a game, but tonight's game was about fighting.

In the fifth inning, Zack Greinke — it had to be him — nicked Cody Ross with a pitch that was slightly inside. Jason Kubel followed with a homer.

In the sixth, Ian Kennedy came high and inside to Yasiel Puig, who leaned back and got hit in the nose. Amazingly, he stayed in the game, and Andre Ethier followed with a homer.

In the top of the seventh, Greinke hit Miguel Montero on the back. The benches cleared but no punches where thrown.

In the bottom of the seventh, Kennedy came in high and inside to Greinke, who got hit on the shoulder. And it was on. Mattingly took down D'bag bench coach Alan Trammell. Ronald Belisario went apeshit on no one in particular.

In the eighth, reliever Joe Paterson hit Mark Ellis on the leg, but I think everybody was tired of fighting at that point.

In the end, D'bags Kennedy, Kirk Gibson and coach Turner Ward were ejected, and Mark McGwire and Puig were gone for the Dodgers. UPDATE: And Beli!

Oh, and the Dodgers took the lead on Tim Federowicz's bases-clearing double in the eighth. I've never seen Juan Uribe run that fast! And newly minted closer Kenley Jansen pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to close it. It was...different.

Up and in to Puig. Swings looked bad. Hope he can adjust.

Quick Pitch busted out the Kershaw/Parra history package.

How about Kennedy and Kershaw last year?

How about me and Neeebs' mom?

Really proud of Zack Greinke for his backbone. LIttle head, but big cojones.

I'm going to have to see me that Drive movie. Is it family-friendly?

Oxnard's temperature was totally obscured by Evelyn Taft's boobs

Could Wiseman take his kids to that movie?

Kenley looked good in the 9th!

It's probably a good thing they're keeping us in a box tomorrow, huh?

Dusty Baker said...

Does that box have a lock? And they it be opened from inside?

MR.F said...

Any news for Puig?

After a Heat blowout in Game 2, and a Spurs blowout in Game 3, I'll say it again:

The NBA is fixed.

Don't forget to post a GT tomorrow you mutts.

I think they station a couple dudes to keep people out. They'll probably keep us in. As long as they let the wait staff in, I'm fine.

Steve Sax said...

As long as my masseuse can enter without issue, I'm fine

Per Mattingly, Puig said he cramped up running out the ground ball early in the game.

Add one more Dodger to tonight's ejections: Belisario.

Steve Sax said...

Why couldn't League have gotten ejected? Just to be safe?

Parra has a great quote. Someone will cut and paste. Basically saying that with all our guys on the DL, AZ was outnumbered 72-25.

RT ‏@NotYasielPuig Our Trainer, Sue, insisted on treating my nose with her cleavage after I was hit. Is that normal American Medical Procedure?

If they suspend Puig tonight, I propose we have a million fan march to the field and stage a sit in....

spank said...

Tons of crybabies commenting in the La Times about how they are disgusted with the brawl last night. I'm disappointed with Dodger fans.

"Oh,I went to the stadium to watch a game not a fight".

Candy asses. Go watch a softball game then.

BJ Killeen said...

I like the fighting...it's the only time we win....

Paul said...

I'm a drunkard not a fighter.

Hideo Nomo said...

I thought I read no suspensions would come down because Joe Torre is on vacation.

It's a mental vacation that started in early 2008.

Hideo Nomo said...

No suspension today, I mean.

Plaschke disagreed with the Dodgers behavior so you know it was the right thing to do.

My favorite fighter is Kershaw. Mr. Love, peace, save the world goes for an upper cut to the solar plexus. Bwahhahaha. WWKD!

@neiltyson: Not that anybody asked, but a baseball thrown 90 mph has about the same energy as a 0.22 caliber bullet fired from a handgun.
