PITTSBURGH — Clayton Kershaw said Sunday he was upset that news about his contract talks with the Dodgers had leaked out.
“I think the reason we’ve been able to continue discussions for this long is that it’s not been talked about,” Kershaw said. “And now that I’m having to talk about it, it’s a distraction because people are talking about it. I guess you’ll have to talk to the Dodgers as to why it came out now. I don’t love the fact that I have to talk about it.”
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported that Kershaw and the Dodgers are “making progress” on a seven-year extension that would be the most lucrative deal ever given to a pitcher. The contract would be worth more than $180 million, according to Rosenthal.
Kershaw blamed the leak on the Dodgers.
“We kind of had an agreement that we weren’t going to talk about it,” Kershaw said. “It didn’t come from our side.”
Kershaw declined to comment on the details of Rosenthal’s report.
“I’m going to still hold up my end of the bargain and not talk about it,” he said.
General Manager Ned Colletti also declined to comment on the report.
Asked if the leak could hurt negotiations, Kershaw replied, “I don’t know.”

Yeah, ain't that a bitch when people talk about you trying to earn 180 million dollars!...poor Kershaw, so sad, hopefully this will all blow over.
Andres Torres just biffed a ball to left, turning a single into a triple. Squeeze play scores a run. 3-0 ATL
