Ha, you probably thought we were going to skip this PGT thread altogether, right? But we couldn't let the SoSG record fail to commemorate the Dodgers' dropping of another series, this time in Pittsburgh, thanks to a mediocre performance from otherwise reliable Zack Greinke. Greinke (5.0 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 2 BB and 3 Ks) was ultimately felled by a two-out, two-on Pedro Alvarez HR.
Alvarez has 15 HR, almost double the HR from the leading Dodger (Adrian Gonzalez, 8). He bats sixth and has a .213 average (which ironically is almost double Luis Cruz' BA).
Yasiel Puig went 3-for-4 with a run scored. Andre Ethier went 2-for-4 with two RBI. And that's all she wrote. Luis Cruz phoned in an 0-for-3. Oh, and Skip Schumaker led off, going 0-for-4.
Note: the story behind that Batman newspaper ad is pretty cool. Also, to be completely transparent, we missed the PGT for Game 58, as well. We're still getting around to that one. Where is that summer intern? And where the hell is my coffee?!
