Post-Game 100 Thread: Winless In The Hanley Era

CARDINALS 7, DODGERS 4

Hanley Ramirez may be new to the Dodgers, but the environment probably looks a lot like Miami: ineptitude in the field and lack of offensive spark. Ramirez went 1-for-2 with 2 BBs and a run scored, but the 1-2-3 slots of Gwynn, Mellis, and Kemp went a combined 1-for-12 and the Dodgers. The Dodger Ramirez Era is now 0-2.

We also let St. Louis amass 18 hits, 11 of which ceded by starter Chris Capuano, who exited the game after letting five straight batters reach in the 10-batter bottom of the fifth inning. Andre Ethier did go 2-for-4 with a run scored, and got a putout at the plate, but also botched a fielding play that continued the disastrous inning.

Randy Choate hasn't been too bad in his two games, either; two IP and 0 ER.

So a roadtrip that started out 4-0 has now degraded to a 4-3 trip, as we head to San Francisco, three games behind the Giants. Not the kind of momentum we were hoping to have. Did I mention that Ramirez bats .217 @ Phone Park, his least-favorite ballpark in the National League? Hoo, boy.

Steve Lyons' Twitter feud with his critics is really sad.

I had to get to the bottom of a fifth when Cap couldn't get out of the fifth.
