PCS 5.6: 101 Tool Player

At last, here is the post you have all been awaiting. Somehow each sentence will need to be coaxed into saying all that it can say. Comb the puzzle for the hidden information and arrange it properly in queues. I hope you all will appreciate the following sentences' poetic artistry. I must inform you, at this point, that the world's most populous landlocked nation is Ethiopia. Look for clues like the Argonauts searched for the golden fleece. After you find the pattern, the solution will me nearly achieved. Sadly, having Juan Uribe in the lineup every night is pretty much a free out. Try and solve this, if you are so inspired. 8 minutes may be all it takes if you look at this through insight's eye.

Puzzle Rules: The solution to the puzzle is a Dodger. Comment freely in the thread, but if you have the solution, please don't give it away to everyone in the comments section. Instead, do the following:

Send us an Email with "PCS" somewhere in the subject line, containing the first and last name of the players, along with your reasoning. Submitted answers without the reasoning, or those submitted with the incorrect reasoning, will count for participation only, even if the answer itself is correct. And please include your screen name somewhere in the email; and

Post a comment simply saying you have emailed your solution attempt. We may not be able to reply to your original email promptly, so please be patient and check back on the comment thread for the latest news; we may confirm correct answers there.

You have until midnight PT tonight to submit your answer. The answer will be posted tomorrow morning. Good luck!

Hint #1: There are two hidden messages in this the puzzle paragraph. One tells you what to look for, and the other tells you the final answer.

Hint #2: The first hidden message from Hint #1 is can be read directly from the puzzle text, but the second message you will need to decode, using the method described in the first.

Hint #3: With regard to step 2, A=0, W=1, et cetera.

Hint #4: Updated puzzle text.

Hint #5: Don't try to solve the whole puzzle at once. Tackling each sentence one-at-a-time will break the task up into bite[sic]-size pieces.

I think I'm being overly Clintonian, but what is the sedinition of "this" in the hint? Do you mean the puzzle paragraph or the hint paragraph?

Steve K said...

That's supposed to say "definition" and not "sedinition."

Steve,

The original paragraph only. Nothing below the first line is needed to decode the puzzle. The first part gives you directions for solving the second.

Hint #2 is up.

I'm about to step in to a meeting, but I can post a hint before this kicks off.

What is everyone having the most trouble with, finding the first message or figuring out the second?

1st message has been found. 2nd message is stumping me.
