Headley, Quentin, Victorino Buzz

Three players are getting the most amount of discussion as potential Dodgers trade deadline pickups. Here's a quick recap of some of the coverage on all of them.

Chase Headley

• The most coveted player this summer, largely because of four attributes: (1) .372 OBP; (2) 28 years old and in the prime of his career; (3) making just $3.4 million; (4) won't be eligible for free agency until after the 2014 season. (Buster Olney / ESPN (link insider only))

Carlos Quentin

• Dodgers are interested, but the Pirates have already had preliminary talks with the Padres; the Blue Jays might be another home. (MLB Trade Rumors)
• However, the Stanford Cardinal is hitting only .156 with only one homer over his last 18 games, watching his BA fall from .404 to .268 over that span (Baseball Reference)

Shane Victorino

• The Phillies might deal him, rather than let Cole Hamels go (MLB Trade Rumors)
• Indians, Pirates, and Tigers are also interested (Jon Heyman)

Denard Span of the Twins and Edwin Encarnacion of the Blue Jays are also getting some buzz, but not at the level of these three guys. We definitely could use a bat or five. Let's see how this plays out.
