P&A Magazine #33 Releases Saturday, July 2 (7a PT)

You all know the drill. Though we just missed the top ten for issue #32, we have a shot at the next issue, which releases on Saturday July 2 at 7a PT. The bad news is, it's a holiday weekend...and I for one will be away at a resort so I am not sure how much time I'll have to puzzle during the day. A quick poll of some of the regulars indicates interest, but spotty coverage--so we could use the help.

And, since we got nasty-gram comments from random non-SoSG readers complaining that our real-time solving thread was too easily found via search engines (if you dont want it spoiled next time, then don't click through to read the answers, idiot), we will be using a googledocs spreadsheet for solving (which is suboptimal for tracking conversations, but can get by).

For those of you who participated in issue #32, you'll find you already have access to a new googledocs file for issue #33. For those of you who want to join the team, please post a comment in this thread AND send us an email, and we will try and add you to the exclusive, private file (and teach you the secret handshake, of course).

Hope to see you this weekend!

In (preternaturally)

My start time on Saturday is directly linked to whether I've exhausted my supply of jokes about the road team's uniforms that I get to see at Safeco on Friday night.

I am rather partial to the home team duds from that night, though.

Mr c and Jason: pls check to see you've got access to the new googledocs

Yep, access working just fine.

The best part is that those aren't even close to the worst Padres unis

Spreadsheet works.

The '72 and '78 Padres uniforms were pretty hideous.

If I show up in the Friar's robe, could I sneak into the visitor's dugout?

Also, the giveaway for '80s night is this poster. I wonder if anyone in the Mariners' promo department realizes what the word 'vice' means?

In my estimation, only the 75-79 Astros with the uniform numbers on the pants are even in the conversation with the 78 San Diego yellow alternate.

Giants up 1-0, mid-5. And I just picked up a Matt Cain badge.

(sigh)

Slappy McPopup up with the bases juiced and two outs, with his rox up 3-1 in the bottom of the second. Any guesses to the outcome?

Hey, when you guys look at your mlb.com badges, do they list the date you picked the badge up? They used to do that, but now on internet explorer they do not (it shows the badge only).

But I've noticed that on firefox, it does show the date the badge was obtained.

btw, Slappy McPopup grounded to second base (and he obviously plays for the white sox, not the rockies; my mistake). Inning over.

Mine still show dates. But then I use firefox or safari only.

I have badge issues. Ones I earn on my work computer during the day do not show up in my collection. Also, my collection appears empty on my work computer. (I'm properly logged in.) Badges only show up on my home Mac laptop.

SF loses on a walk-off three run shot in the bottom of the 13th inning

Sandoval hit a go-ahead HR with two out in the top of the inning. But SF gave up four runs in the bottom of the 13th, including Geovany Soto's walkoff HR.

BOOM
