Ted Lilly (0-1, 7.71) vs. Clayton Richard (1-0, 4.50).
The Padres have a Clayton of their own, and he spells trouble for the Dodgers. In 2010, the left-hander had three starts against Los Angeles — and merely went 3-0, striking out 18 and allowing only five runs over 20 1/3 innings.
San Diego is off to a solid start, taking two of three from the Cardinals and splitting two with the Giants. Adrian Gonzalez has taken his bat to the 0-6 Red Sox, but the Padres always seem to find pieces, which this year include former Dodger Orlando Hudson.
Ted looks to rebound from his disappointing first start, that 10-0 shellacking the Giants put on the Dodgers last week. A strong showing would help restore confidence in the starting rotation, after what happened to (our) Clayton and Chad in Colorado.
