Ted Lilly (0-1, 6.00) vs. Jonathan Sanchez (0-1, 2.53).
We've read about Lilly's competitive streak, so this wubba-wubba* game would be a fine opportunity to discover if Better Off Ted can translate his intensity into Giants-beating results.
*Why yes, that is Portia de Rossi.
The Dodgers already beat Sanchez at Dodger Stadium — and really, any team that can hand Tim Lincecum a loss followed by a no-decision should be capable of taking this series.
Andre Ethier is beginning to heat up, and we know Matt Kemp will continue playing like he's in his walk year (which he isn't; he becomes a free agent in 2013). The pitch Kemp formerly couldn't resist, the slider down and away, is currently bedeviling James Loney, who figures to see (and swing at) plenty of them from the lefty Sanchez.
Also, Casey Blake is scheduled to start tonight, which should get Aaron Miles out of the lineup. Already the Beard's contributing!
It's been hard to figure out this 2011 Dodgers squad. For every two games they grind out, they go belly-up for one. There has been some true meeting of potential, and then some truly uninspired play from some uninspiring signings. A victory tonight would help tilt the balance toward the hope that this team can compete.

Uribe at .135 and sinking. I thought crap floats.

Bring in Manny!
Meanwhile the Lakers are blowing it again.
Ok I'm out.
Fucking Awesome. WOOOOHOOOO!!!!
Yoga was very good. I enjoyed it. It was an intro class and not a regular class, so there were only 5 of us. It was relaxing and a little intense and meditative. ie, the kind of thing I like. I'm glad I went!
Blah blah third out blah blah third base.
DUH!!!!
=(
@Dusty 8:42p, look for a post tomorrow about you...
NPUT re: Dodgers rescinding the half-price alcohol sales for those six day games under the promotion. I really think this is the right move for the Dodgers, though I know you guys mostly disagree (and find it bizarre for a lush like me to be supporting a stance like that).
@Mr F 9:47p Bikram I presume
That was a nice strikeout.i enjoyed it very much.
@Paul 8:25p I can't believe more readers didn't pick up on the great de Rossi conundrum
The lakers have scored 8 points in the fourth quarter.
That was another nice strikeout

Here comes that weinie, Fontenot
@Sax
They are too busy on the Dodgers conundrum.
Fontenot looks like he should be hitting the ball off a tee.
Wild Kuo again.
Come on ,mang.
LONEY TIME!!!
Blake in left has finally come to fruition.
@paul 9:57p (sorry for the delay in this conversation, but the internet is slow here in Botswana): agreed, but this de Rossi conundrum has befuddled me for years, especially when I was in the throes of Arrested Development, watching 3-4 episodes a night.
Is she hot? Is she not?
These are the burning questions that keep me up at night.
So to speak.
Jesus H, can't we be allowed to punish this clown?
three outs to freedom, my little Dodgers (literally, since it's barajas miles loney)
I am going to screw up the superstitions and go watch this half-inning
I do not like our chances.
@Josh. S, 10:02
I'm not sure I subscribe to that tuition.

LONEY LONEY LONEY LONEY LONEY
James hit one out please.
Another fuckin pop up.
This offense is dog shit.
Jeez, Loney. Every time I think you are as awful as I can possibly imagine, you exceed expectations.
So, in the two games, Wilson faced/will face:
Paul
Carroll
Gwynn
Miles
Loney
Carroll
Not exactly a challenge for him.

I can only hope Wilson get wild.
