San Diego already lost to Houston, 7-2. The Padres slip to 15.5 games behind the Dodgers, ensconced in fourth place in the NL West.
Giants are currently in the middle of the fifth. Barry Zito gave up three runs in the first, but has settled since, with the Cardinals leading 3-0. The Cardinals' starter, Todd Wellemeyer, has 69 pitches through five scoreless frames.
Comment away if you're watching (and feel free to comment as well on Ron Artest apparently joining the Lakers, while former UCLA Bruin Trevor Ariza interviews with the Rockets and other teams...).

I don't like Artest but I must admit he'd make a damn good combination with Kobe in the backcourt.
I love Ariza, but he took a gamble to get more money and lost.
SF down 5, that cheers me up a little.
It puts Ariza in a bind, since Artest is basically taking what the Lakers offered Ariza, and Ariza is not close to Artest. I do like where it puts the Lakers into resigning Odom though.
Giants are losing because I got inside Zito's head. I taunted him on Twitter this morning over his Manny suspension prediction.
Yep, it's alllll me.
"Ensconced in fourth place." Sounds so cozy.
More like they can't get up, Orel.
I want to apologize to the Dbacks organization on behalf of everyone on this post.
The Dbacks lost today too, 2-3. They now sit 19 games behind the good guys.
Give credit where credit is due.
Giants are starting to come back.
I'm scared-ded-ed.
threat averted, giants lose.
Trevor Ariza, we hardly knew ye

See, if Ariza had stayed at UCLA longer he would have been smart enough to hire a good agent; not one that played hardball with the Lakers and lost. . .big time.
Have fun in Houston, Trev. No Yao, McGrady is breaking down. Maybe a couple of lottery picks will get you some decent teammates. Not.
