Hyun-Jin Ryu (6-2, 3.09) vs. Eddie Butler (0-0, -.--).
The Butler finally did it. The Rockies' #2 prospect makes his major league debut this afternoon in Colorado, graduating from the Double-A Tulsa Drillers (whom I've seen play at home, in a former life!), where he went 4-4 with a 2.49 ERA in 11 starts. The Dodgers, who have been putzing around all season with uninspired efforts and a mediocre record to show for it, have finally been called out by manager Don Mattingly for their "selfish" behavior. So will the Dodgers respond to the challenge and finally get their asses in gear? Or will Butler Lumber to a victory by stepping over the moribund corpses on a team so bad, their error-filled antics aren't even televised at home?
