Game 85 Thread: June 30 vs. Indians, 7p

Dan Haren (7-4, 3.83) vs. Corey Kluber (7-5, 3.09).

The Dodgers throw Dan Haren, a starter with a 7-4 record and an ERA in the 3s. So the Indians counter with a pitcher with almost the same win-loss record, also with an ERA in the 3s! Pretty Kluber move, if you asked me.

Haren is 2-0 with a 4.98 ERA in his last four starts, which doesn't bode well. Kluber has not lost to the NL, spanning six career starts (and a 2.29 ERA).

With San Francisco idle and the Dodgers locked in a tie with the Giants for first place in the West, tonight's game determines whether we move into first alone, or lose our grip on first place after only one day. But rather than dwell on our NL West fate, let's make sure we're taking time to consider the racial insensitivity of our opponent's team name.

Things white people like: St. Louis Cardinals

This hit me as I went to the games the past few days. Damn, get some color going, Cards.

@Dusty: did you see Chris Rock interviewing people at a Monster Truck Rally about the BET Awards? Not the best, but pretty funny.

Bobby Castillo passed this morning after a long battle with cancer. He was only 59 years old.

RIP Bobby.

Hi Karen. Yes, sad news indeed coming out of Blue Heaven on Earth. I'm here tonight and hoping they do something nice to honor him including all his great local community work.

Wow Haren still unscored upon?!

I can't watch an Indians game without thinking of Major League, one of my all time favorite movies. I know, I'm very deep, I just love those cerebral movies.

Don't hate, Karen. That was one of the seminal movies of our time. It changed us as a culture.

My Main Dude with a solid double. June has been a great month for Matt and his Whores!!

Dust...I'm not hatin'. I'm dead serious! The other movie that is right up there in my all time faves with Major League is Weekend at Bernies. I think this gives everyone clear insight to the inner workings of my brain!!

Wasn't Danny Haren sporting the 'Kershaw like' beard his last start?

Rojas with another great play at SS.

Scoreless after 4.5? Unexpected

I am really digging AJ's walk up music. This one is from the '60s and last years was a song called 'Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress' from the '70s. These songs are even a little before my time. I wonder what his musical influences are??

12 IN A ROW RETIRED BY DANNY BOY.

Dan Haren has one hit and 0 ER through seven.

Unfortunately, the offense isn't giving him any signs of hope, but to Haren's credit, he's battling out there

Dre leads off the seventh with a triple!!

Orel said...

Then Uribe grounds out! And Ellis strikes out!

Orel said...

We have a Robinson? Who is Robinson?

Orel said...

He's our new RBI man, that's who. 1-0 Dodgers!

karen said...

First big league hit for Robinson brings in Dre. 1-0 Good Guys in the seventh.

karen said...

One more time, Orel, you're one measly step ahead of me!

Orel said...

That's one measly step for man

Steve Sax said...

Clint frickin' Robinson, ladies and gentlemen! Wow.
