Post-Game 40 Thread: Fish In A Barrel

DODGERS 6, MARLINS 5

Now, that wasn't so hard, was it? All we had to do is be receptive to the kind generosity of the Marlins' pitching staff (who offered us 10 walks, five by starter Tom Koehler), and then just take advantage of said generosity (a three-run HR in the fourth by Yasiel Puig, who cashed in Drew Butera and Dee Gordon; and Puig again taking a bases-loaded walk in the fifth from Henry Rodriguez, who gave up four walks of his own).

Dan Haren went 7.0 IP with 3 ER yielded (0 BB, 2 K). And though Brian Wilson gave two runs back in the eighth on an unlikely Reed Johnson HR, Kenley Jansen came out in the ninth to get three outs (including 1 K) on 16 pitches.

See how easy that is? Well-timed offensive power, error-free defense, and a bullpen that preserved the lead after the starter went deep. It was like shooting fish in a barrel, so to speak. (Brightly-colored orange fish, that is.)
